Heritage Singers Dress Rehearsal
The traditional Christmas Concert rehearsal for 2nd-8th grade Heritage Singers this year will be on Tuesday morning, Dec. 20 from 8:45 AM to 11:30 AM. The Before School Program and PK-1st grade will resume as scheduled.

Concert Arrival
The Christmas Concert will be Tuesday night, Dec. 20 from 7-8pm. Students need to arrive at 6:30pm. All participating students should put coats in their lockers, non-band students should meet in their homerooms and all band students should meet in the gym at 6:30pm.

Dress Code
Students are required to "dress-up" for this performance. Girls should wear dresses, skirts, or dress slacks in accordance with the school dress code (refer to the Parent/Student Handbook). Boys should wear collared shirts (button down is preferred) and dress pants (including khakis). Please, no blue jeans or tennis shoes.
Important: 5th-8th grade students will receive a discipline slip if they do not meet dress code for this performance; for all other students, parents will be notified.

While the performance includes 2nd-8th grade students, all families are encouraged to attend to celebrate the birth of our Savior!
Winter weather is bearing down on us!  Just a reminder of a few items as we anticipate the possibility of snow and cold temperatures:
  1. When checking for closures/delays, please look specifically for information on Heritage Christian School. While our decisions are often the same as Iowa City School District and Clear Creek Amana, they are not ALWAYS the same.
  2. Decisions to delay or cancel will be made no later than 6:30 AM. If it is determined that a late start is necessary, please continue to watch the news. If weather conditions do not improve, school will be cancelled by 8:30 AM.
  3. In the event of early dismissal due to weather or other emergency, parents will be called to ensure notification is made.
  4. Please make attendance decisions you are comfortable with.  If you are concerned about traveling when driving conditions are poor or it is brutally cold, please make personal decisions accordingly.
  5. With a delayed start, please arrive between 9:45-9:55am.  Classes will begin at 10:00am.
  6. When driving conditions are poor and school IS in session, we will not count students tardy allowing parents necessary travel time.
  7. Heritage Christian School does not close for cold temperatures.
  8. Please check KCRG, KGAN, KWWL, local radio AM 800 and the Heritage Christian School Facebook page for inclement weather information.
Read the full inclement weather procedures on the website here.

Educating For Eternity Banquet

Plans for our Educating for Eternity Banquet scheduled for Saturday, March 4, are already in full swing. The team has been working hard on getting the word out about the event and securing sponsorships. We're excited about our speaker, Rick Green, as well as the progress we've already made towards our sponsorship goal of $57,250!

How can you help? First of all pray for the team as they prepare for the event. Secondly, if you know of a business or individual that would be willing to sponsor the event through a monetary donation or a donation for the silent auction, contact Sara Sundblad by emailing [email protected]. For more information and details about EFE and our speaker this year, visit the EFE page on our website.

Lunch Server Needed on Mondays

We are looking for a lunch server to help out on Mondays starting after Christmas break. The time commitment is roughly 1 1/2 hours from 11am to 12:30pm. Serving lunch is a great way to get to know the students and teachers! If you are interested in helping out or would like more information, contact Brenda Wichhart, [email protected], 626-4777.
The Eagles are kicking off their basketball season with their first game against the Central Lutheran Cougars in Newhall on Monday, December 12th. The 7/8th Boys Basketball team will also be facing the Pathway Panthers in Kalona on Thursday, December 15th. All Eagles families and fans are invited to come out and cheer on the  Eagles next week. We hope to see you there!
