 Productive & Busy Week!

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in our annual   Movie Night In, Parents' Night Out event last Friday.  Several MFCS staff members volunteered to run the evening during which parents drop off their children, many clad in PJ's and carrying pillows and sleeping bags, for a movie night held here at school. After drop off, parents then set off for a relaxing night, sans children. The group of well over 60 children and attending staff gathered in our common space and settled in to watch Finding Dory . Popcorn for the event was donated by Cinemagic - special thanks to former MFCS Foundation Board member and MFCS Friend, Mark Adam and his movie theater team for their donation of an ENORMOUS bag of popcorn!

This is the final call for signing up for the 2017 Ski Club. Please see the box below for additional details. If you are interested you MUST sign up by December 15th

This morning at our All-School Morning Meeting, we learned about the great accomplishments of our school's First Lego League Team - Lego Phoenix. They shared their projects highlighting the programming required for their robot as well as the project portion of the FLL Program. Join us in sending a hearty congrats to our FLL team, and to MFCS Parent Organizers, Swati and Celestia for their focus and hard work in support of the team. Additionally, congrats are in order for our own Math Interventionist, Colleen Lacroix, who also parented a team at her son's school in Auburn. Both teams made it to the state competition and we couldn't be prouder! To learn more about the program, please contact Swati.

We are sending home several important fliers in backpacks today. Please be sure to look for them. You will also find them in the Front Office box below.

Our School Directory has now been completed. An email has been sent to those families who agreed to have their name, email, and phone number published and shared with Mill Falls Families. If you have any questions, please send an email to Ms. Allison.

Looks like we may have some more bad weather  early next week. A reminder that we follow the Manchester School District - if they are closed or have a delayed opening, so do we! You can find their listing and ours on WMUR. If there is a delayed opening, we will not have Before Care or Kindergarten. Kinder Care will begin at 12pm.

  Sharing Our Voices

On Monday, December 19th at 3:30 we will be hosting our first Winter Choir Concert . Led by their conductor, our own Ms. Allison, the Upper and Lower El choirs will perform a number of pieces they have been working on.
Hope to see you there!

A few days after that concert, our Choir will head to Concord to perform for the Governor and Executive Council at their December meeting. Our student singers, led by Ms. Allison and accompanied by Ms. Laura B., will warm opening up the meeting with their beautiful voices. We look forward to this wonderful opportunity and send our thanks to Executive Councilor Chris Pappas for the invitation to perform.

Year End Notes...From the Foundation
Earlier this week, the MFCS Foundation sent out its 2016 Annual Appeal to those outside of our school community who have generously supported us financially in the past. We are hopeful that our ask will be met with enthusiasm by recipients.

As a reminder, many families and companies like to make donations to non profits at this time of year. We hope that some in our Parent Community are able to send in financial support. At our Night of Community, the 'Fund-A-Need' focused on raising funds for our outdoor space and activities. If you would like to make a donation to that fund, or to our general fund, please make your check out to MFCS Foundation. The Foundation is a 501c3 organization and your donation is tax deductable to the fullest extent of the law.

Additionally, many corporations provide matching funds to those organizations that their employees support. Check in with your HR department to see if they can help support our school!
Thank you!!!

Keep Anastasia Informed:
Once you have registered please send an email to our Parent Coordinator, Anastasia Frew, at [email protected], so she can track Club participants.

Kindergarteners can participate
in lessons on Tuesdays from 12:30-1:30, however parents will be responsible for transportation!  If your kinder is close to being 6 and has skied before they are welcome to register for the Mighty Mac's at 4pm. McIntyre has a no refund policy if the child fizzles out after an hour or decides they don't like the program!  **Kinder parents of each participating child will be required to be there for the whole session each week.**

Parent chaperones are key to the success of this program. Each week, we require one parent here at school to get the kids ready. A parent must also ride the bus with the children. At the mountain, we require 2-3 chaperones - some in the lodge and some on the mountain. Chaperones can ski for free during the lessons as they monitor the children on the mountain.

See you on the slopes!
