Home Values, Sales Marching Upward

Journal of Business graphic
|
The Journal of Business shares SAR data in its own graphic in the current edition of the newspaper, with a good narrative snapshot of where we are in the current residential marketplace - a place where we've never been before in terms of median price and units sold in Spokane County - both the highest-ever last month.
The headline reads: Spokane-area home values, sales marching upward; Median price for first half of year reaches $205,000.
Read the complete article in the Journal of Business, online here.
Also in the Journal:
Despite strong growth in existing home sales for the first half of the year, new home sales and construction are lagging behind last year's pace, homebuilding industry observers say.
But that lag isn't due to a lack of demand, they say, pointing out that prices continue to climb. Rather, the slowdown is caused by a tight labor market and a shortage of land to build upon.
