Bundle Up!

As we brace ourse lves for the deep freeze of winter, please remember that students have outdoor recess every day the temperature is above 15°, including wind chill.

Please remind your children that they must have snow pants and boots in order to play in the snow.

Being prepared to brave the elements will make recess so much more enjoyable these cold winter months!

Winter Gear Needed

Preschool could use old snow pants, boots, hats and gloves. If you are ready to get rid of items that no longer fit your children, please send them our way!

A Month of Giving!

Who? - Pleasantdale Elementary students, families and staff

What/When? - Help us work towards ending homelessness by donating items during the month of December! All items will be donated to Housing Forward, the only social service agency in west Cook County with a comprehensive "housing + services" solution for transitioning individuals and families out of homelessness.

Where/How? - Simply bring in these items and drop them in the box in the front area of the school.

December 12th - 15th: Paper goods (hot/cold cups, heavy-duty paper plates, napkins, paper towels and toilet paper)

December 19th - 22nd: Toiletry Items (travel sizes of lotion, sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, q-tips, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.)

Holiday Sweets Table on December 21st!

Show the Pleasantdale Staff your appreciation by sharing delicious ''Sweet Goodies'' for the Holidays!

Send your family's favorite homemade "sweet" on a disposable tray with a Holiday Picture Card or family photo. All the goodies will be shared with the staff. This is one of the staff's favorite days, so let's make it especially "sweet"!

Drop off at either school on:

12/20 between 3:00-4:00 pm

12/21 between 8:00-9:30 am

Pleasantdale School Board Seats Up for Election Reminder

Pleasantdale School District 107 will have four school board seats to be filled at the April 4, 2017 Consolidated Election. These seats are for four-year terms expiring in April 2021. The period for filing nominating papers runs from December 12 through December 19, 2016.

Filing locations, dates and times have been finalized for school board candidates running in the April 4, 2017 Consolidated Election, click here for information.

Candidates for school board will not be filing any paperwork at the local district. The county clerk may have petition forms available or blank petitions may be downloaded from the State Board of Elections website, http://www.elections.il.gov/. A "Running for Office" Starter Kit is also available by clicking here.

Candidates can get information about being a school board member from the Illinois Association of School Boards, at: www.iasb.com/elections.
