Spring is right around the corner. The polar vortex is fading into a distant memory, spring wildflowers are beginning to sprout, and the new Impact 100 year is off to a great start!

We welcome our new Impact 100 members - all 154 of them - into the Impact 100 organization.  And we welcome back a large number of our loyal, committed members from prior years.  The Impact 100 organization is larger and stronger than ever!  Many members are already participating in committees - both Grant Review Committees and standing Committees like Recruiting, Communications, Marketing and Membership. 

Our wonderful non-profit agency partners have again amazed us by submitting 102 Letters of Intent addressing a broad range of community needs.  We are very fortunate to have such creative and committed agencies - all seeking transformational ways to serve our community. 

The Grant Review Committees have completed their review of 102 Letters of Intent, and they have invited 37 Agencies to submit a full Grant Application.  The Committees are now in recess while the invited agencies work hard to prepare their Grant Applications.

This next step provides all members with an excellent opportunity to join a Grant Review Committee.  When the committees resume work in March, they will begin with training and will welcome new and old members.  If you are interested, please review the choices of Committees, times and locations (posted in the "Join Us" -> "Join A Committee" section of our Web-Site - http://impact100.org/join-us/join-a-committee/), and fill out the form to let us know which Committee you would like to join.  All Impact 100 members are welcome and are encouraged to join a committee.

The new Impact 100 Board had a planning Retreat in February, and the Board Members set a goal of awarding 4 grants of $100,000+ each in 2015.  This goal is a stretch for the organization - yet very achievable, and the entire Board is committed to reaching this goal.  We know that for each new grant the organization can fund, there is one more very deserving non-profit agency that is able to create a community impact via a transformational grant.  We hope that all our members will help us reach this goal by building awareness of Impact 100, by telling friends and colleagues about the organization, and by helping us to retain current members and recruit new members.  For those who find a payment plan helpful, we offer a monthly installment payment plan - and all interested members and prospects are encouraged to use it.

Please check out the calendar of Upcoming Events. The Membership Committee has created a broad range of activities that should appeal to the interests of our diverse members.

"Our training program started over two years ago and we really hit the ground running.  We have everything we need and our site is very functional, but we have always wanted to dress it up a bit." - Mercy Neighborhood Ministries 

Mercy Neighborhood Ministries' Home Care Aide Training site, which is at 1225 E. McMillan, Cincinnati(across from Skyline, near St. Ursula at the corner of Victory Parkway and E. McMillan) in the Christ Emmanuel building. There is a parking lot to the right of the building. Come to the back door and ring for entry. If you have trouble finding us or have questions call

We have collected some wall hangings, pictures, rugs, etc., as well as some new furniture to integrate. Dress in comfortable, casual clothes. 

Specific jobs:

• Clean equipment 
• Redo/set up lab stations
• Wipe down tables and chairs
• Move tables and chairs
• Hang and place pictures/decorations

Anything we can think of to refresh the space and make it more conducive to learning. Creativity encouraged!

If you're doing some spring cleaning and have some decorations or other items you'd like to donate, MNM would be happy to take a look at them to see if they could use them!

Who I am? 

I am now in my 5th year as an Impact 100 member. My husband and I hail from Boston and love what Cincinnati has to offer. We have a son and a daughter & are blessed with a wonderful daughter-in-law and son-in-law. We are the proud grandparents of Alex, about to be a teenager! Bob is retired and I continue to help people live their dreams in my
capacity as a Wealth Management Advisor at Merrill Lynch. 

What got you involved in Impact 100?      

I was invited to cocktail hour at Elaine Suess' home for a presentation of how Impact 100 has contributed in such a meaningful way to help local non-profit organizations realize some of their goals in providing more services to our community. How could one not want to be a part of such an endeavor? I signed up.

 

What keeps you a member?   

The opportunity to continuously learn more about the needs of our community and what so many individuals are dedicated to accomplishing is inspirational. Impact 100 members never cease to amaze me in their continuing efforts to make our organization impactful to our community. It is truly a wonderful way for me to give back to THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA!
