We are just about to begin the most exciting phase of the Impact 100 year.
The Grant Review Committees have completed their work of selecting the five Grant Finalists, and CIRC (Community Investment Review Committee) has completed its work of confirming the financial viability of the Finalist agencies and proposals.
On June 24th, we were delighted to announce the five Grant Recipient Finalists.
The five Finalists are:
Price Hill Will - proposing the MY Cincinnati ("Music for Youth") program - selected to represent the Culture Focus Area
Community Matters (formerly known as Lower Price Hill Community School) - proposing the Washing Well Program - selected to represent the Health & Wellness Focus Area
Cincinnati Community ToolBank - proposing the Delivery Truck and Trailer Program - selected to represent the Environment, Preservation and Recreation Focus Area
Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati - proposing the Basic Literacy Program Expansion: Adult and Children - selected to represent the Education Focus Area
Welcome House of Northern Kentucky - proposing the Ride-N-Seek Program - Employment Services - selected to represent the Family Focus Area
This year, we will have the opportunity to select the Impact 100 Grant Recipients from these five strong Finalists. We are fortunate to live in a community that has such vibrant and creative non-profit agencies. When the Grant Review process began, we had Letter of Intent proposals from over 100 local agencies. These were carefully reviewed, and 37 agencies were invited to submit full Grant Proposals. After serious deliberations including a number of site visits, the Grant Review Committees selected the five Finalists.
We hope you can join us for the Annual Awards Celebration (AAC) on September 16th. This event is the culmination of the Impact 100 year - the opportunity for you to hear from the Finalists, cast your vote, network with other Impact 100 members, enjoy a delicious dinner, and see which organizations receive our 2014 Grant Awards. You won't want to miss this Awards Celebration - it is the first time we will award THREE grants!!
This is also a wonderful opportunity to invite your friends and colleagues who are interested in learning more about Impact 100 and potentially becoming new members.
Please remember to register for the Annual Awards Celebration, and invite your friends today!!! Recall that our goal for 2015 is to give FOUR Grants - so we can do "MORE with FOUR". We can only achieve this goal with your help!

The Impact of Generosity

On May 9, 2014, our Impact 100 founder, Wendy Steele, gave a TEDx talk in Boca Raton Florida. The talk, called The Impact of Generosity, is 11 minutes. In it, she provides a bit about how and why Impact 100 was first created back in 2001. The main point of the talk is encouraging each of us to give back and get involved in whatever way we can. Sustaining Membership

Many of you have been loyal members of Impact 100 for a number of years. We thank you and welcome our newest members! We count on our devoted members to enable us to give grants. If you plan to continue to be a member, choosing to be a Sustaining Member makes an ongoing commitment to Impact 100. You automatically recommit each year - which means less mail, and uninterrupted status as an Impact 100 Member. To become a sustaining member notify Impact 100 at [email protected] or 513-554-3065. Volunteer Opportunity!

Impact 100 Volunteer Event with Crayons to Computers
Tuesday, July 8th from 9:00 AM to Noon
1350 Tennessee Avenue, Cincinnati
Join Impact 100 for an exciting volunteer project on July 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The project will include sorting recently donated school supplies and/or bundling books.* Crayons to Computers is centrally located at 1350 Tennessee Ave Cincinnati, OH 45229. You will be working in the warehouse so comfortable clothes that allow one to bend and lift are suggested. Closed toe shoes are required.
12 Years old and up are welcome! 
Space is limited, be sure to register now!
*Projects are subject to change based on the needs of the warehouse team at that time.
Directions:
From I-75:
Take exit 7 to the Norwood Lateral (562) to the Paddock Road exit (Exit 1). Turn right off the exit ramp onto Paddock Road. Turn left at the next intersection on Tennessee Avenue. Crayons to Computers will be on your left after about 1/4 mile.
From I-71:
Take the Norwood Lateral (562) exit to Reading Road (Exit 2). Turn left off the exit ramp onto Reading Road. Go to the second light and turn right on Tennessee Avenue. We are the second driveway on the right.

Visit the Princess Diana Exhibit at Cincinnati Museum Center

More than 15 years after her death, Princess Diana's memory still stirs interest and emotion. The award-winning exhibition Diana, A Celebration, which chronicles the life of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, will be on display at Cincinnati Museum Center through Aug. 17, 2014. Don't miss this opportunity - - This is the final showing for the renowned exhibition, which has been touring the world since 2003, before the items return to her sons in England to be preserved for future generations.
As you leave the Diana exhibit, "Daughters of the Queen City" highlights stories of philanthropy at work throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Impact 100 is one of the featured philanthropic organizations. As you leave the gallery, you can learn more about how organizations are working in the community today and how you can join them in their efforts. |

Who I am?
I am the wife to a very supportive husband, Rick, and the mother of three wonderful children, Max, Madeleine and Anna. For 20 years, I owned and managed a full-service advertising and marketing firm which I recently sold last spring to the Powers Agency. During my tenure as an agency owner, I was fortunate to sit on many non-profit boards and volunteer for many organizations but I am absolutely enjoying the freedom this new chapter of my life offers. I had my first vegetable garden last summer, which my daughter says was "very bountiful". I took my first painting class. I started yoga, which was my New Year's Resolution for 10 years running, and the butt of many office jokes. I read the entire New York Times every Sunday morning and I still enjoy cooking... so much so that I go to Kroger so often I feel compelled to switch up store locations. I recently re-joined Impact 100's Board of Directors, which I am very excited about, and I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
 What got you involved with Impact 100?
In it's inaugural year, I had children at the same school as the founder, Wendy Steele, so that is how I initially heard about Impact 100. The idea of women coming together to make a large impact was intriguing because giving circles were not all that common in those days. What I found most appealing was the notion that we could make our donation and not be required to do anything more unless we chose to. Being a busy working mom, that notion definitely resonated. The irony is I soon found myself on the Impact 100 Board of Directors and knee deep in helping with marketing, PR and recruiting. I like to think I believed in the concept, the power of women coming together for a good cause, so much that I just had to have an active role in Impact 100's success. The truth is I think I simply had not yet mastered the art of saying "no."
What keeps you a member?
I've been a member every year since its inception and there are many reasons. The feeling you get at the Annual Dinner. The feeling you get when you hear a non-profit talk about the impact of our grant. The feeling you get when you meet direct beneficiaries of the grants. I have learned about and become involved with many non-profits I wouldn't have had any contact with otherwise and have met, and become friends with, women I would have never crossed paths with. I am very proud of all that Impact 100 has accomplished in our community and am honored to work with this group of women!
