Three Nonstop Flights to Europe in 2017: Reykjavik, Paris, Frankfurt!

WOW air will begin nonstop flights from Pittsburgh International Airport to Iceland for as low as $99* one-way including taxes, beginning June 16. For only $149.99*, travelers can continue their trip to WOW air's other European destinations including London, Frankfurt, Berlin, Paris and Dublin.


Additionally, Condor Airlines has announced new seasonal nonstop service to Frankfurt, Germany. Twice weekly flights (Fridays and Mondays) will begin on June 23, 2017, and continue through September. Roundtrip fares are currently priced around $900.

And, of course, the ninth successful year of nonstop service to Paris on Delta Air Lines resumes May 25, 2017. At Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), passengers can connect to 100-plus destinations in Europe, Asia, India and the Middle East on Delta and their SkyTeam partners Air France/KLM.


  
 
Renovated Kidsport Now Open in Concourse C
 
Just in time for families traveling with children during the busy holiday season, an all-new Kidsport play and learning center is now open in Concourse C!
 
The all-new Kidsport is a colorful, 2,100 square foot space featuring seven new interactive installations by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh that challenge kids of all ages to explore concepts of live video, height comparison, movement and more.

The renovations were made possible by a collaborative partnership with the museums and the Richard King Mellon Foundation.
Martini Opens Second Location Landside Transit Level

With the opening of the second Martini location Landside, non-ticketed guests can now enjoy a delicious bite or brew from the airport's trendy cocktail lounge. The 2,600 square foot bar restaurant, located in the landside terminal (transit level), seats up to 100 in a modern, dynamic space.

"A new landside location means travelers can have dinner with their friends and family who are seeing them off or greeting them at the airport," said Bob Kerlik, vice president of media relations.  
 
Additionally, new convenient kiosks featuring Pittsburgh favorite Sarris Candies and an assortment of fragrance giftsets and beauty products from Collezioni - The Beauty Gallery, are now open for shoppers in the Airside Terminal, with more options coming in 2017.


  
Program Offered for First Time or Infrequent Flyers
 
Pittsburgh International Airport announces the launch of "First Time Flyers," a program that will take new or infrequent air travelers from the booking process through boarding an aircraft. The course will be available from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Pittsburgh International Airport.
 
Course attendees will learn tips on booking flights online, navigating Pittsburgh International Airport, traveling with children, the ins and outs of the security checkpoint and other topics.


  
OneJet Announces Additional Nonstop Destinations from Pittsburgh

Beginning in March, OneJet will introduce nonstop service to Richmond, VA and Albany, NY, reducing travel time between Pittsburgh and the respective cities to one hour on average.  The routes join a growing list of OneJet destinations from Pittsburgh, including Hartford, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

Flights to both cities go on sale February 1, with Richmond service beginning March 1 and Albany service on March 22, pursuant to the following schedule:
  • Pittsburgh - Richmond, departing 08:55am and arriving 09:50am
  • Richmond - Pittsburgh, departing 4:15pm and arriving 5:10pm
  • Pittsburgh - Albany, departing 8:45am and arriving 10:00am
  • Albany - Pittsburgh, departing 3:45pm and arriving 5:10pm

  
Busy Travel Days in December: Save More With Reserved Airport Parking
 
With a steady increase in flights and passengers at Pittsburgh International this year, we are expecting a bit more hustle and bustle this holiday travel season.
December 9, 12, 15 and 16 are big travel days, with about 1,000 more passengers than an average day. 
The busiest time for departures at PIT is between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m., as well as early afternoon and early evening. Afternoons and evenings on Thursdays and Fridays are the heaviest times for arrivals.
Please arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure time if you are departing on these days. Allow additional time to accommodate any road construction and/or weather delays.
Please use the cell phone lot, or park for free for one hour in the Extended lot, if picking up loved ones.

Additional Domestic Nonstop Flights Offered to New Orleans, Boston

Southwest Airlines has announced it will add nonstop service from Pittsburgh International Airport to New Orleans on Sundays from March - May, 2017, the latest addition in the airline's steady growth in the region.
 
Capitalizing on strong demand in the Pittsburgh market, JetBlue has also announced it will launch a fifth daily nonstop flight between PIT and Boston Logan International Airport starting March 2.
 
The additional weekday flight will depart PIT at 6 a.m. and arrive in Boston at 7:34 a.m. The additional return will depart Boston at 8:55 p.m. and arrive in Pittsburgh at 10:48 p.m.
