A Message from The Network Co-Chairs:

On behalf of the Steering Committee leadership, which worked tirelessly for the last two years to establish our new organization, the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies, we are so very pleased to report that the legal filings have all been approved and we are now officially recognized as a new organization, with incorporation in the State of New York. It is important as we move forward as a new entity to celebrate all the many accomplishments which both AJFCA and IAVJS enjoyed and which brought us to this important transition.

As we work toward implementing the vision of our new organization, we are fueled by the excitement and level of engagement which has been felt from throughout our 140 member agency Network. The Network is grounded in its initial founding vision, building off of our four central pillars:  innovation, best practices, member services and advocacy. We are actively engaged in developing initiatives around these four pillars and continuing our work in fulfilling the vision of strengthening our entire Network and working together to advance the Jewish human service sector.

Thank you for your critical partnership in our efforts.

June Gutterman and Jim Kahn, Co-Chairs, NJHSA Board of Directors

WORK to advance causes and policy.
  • HIAS opposes the RAISE Act. This week Senators Tom Cotton (Ark.) and David Perdue (Ga.) appeared with President Trump at the White House to endorse legislation that would cut legal immigration to the United States. Continue reading here.

  • The Americans with Disabilities Act  is under attack. Help protect this vital legislation! ADA Education and Reform Act Undermines the ADA Please reach out to your Representatives and urge them to oppose H.R. 620, the ADA Education and Reform Act of 2017. This bill would fundamentally undermine federal disability rights law as established 26 years ago by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). H.R. 620 does not "reform" the ADA, but instead imposes new barriers to people with disabilities seeking access to public accommodations.
