New & Interesting Wines:

Whites*********************************************************

Lavradores de Feitoria Douro Branco 2015, Portugal, $14.99
Blend of Malvasia Fina, Siria and Gouveio fermented and aged in stainless steel. Taste it with us Friday!

Emile Balland "Les Beaux Jours" Coteaux du Giennois 2015, Loire Valley, France, $21.99

Falesco "Tellus" Chardonnay 2015, Umbria, Italy, $16.99
"A fruity white with plenty of cooked-apple and lemon character. Medium body and bright acidity. Solid chardonnay." 90pts James Suckling

Elizabeth Rose Chardonnay 2015, Napa, CA, $24.99
"The nose offers a welcoming aroma of tropical fruits, and lychee undertones. The unique style in which this wine is crafted, with no oak treatment, provides a crisp and clean palate with slight minerality and a dry finish. A full mouth-feel and plump body, the Elizabeth Rose Chardonnay, will pair nicely with any rich foods." -from the winemaker

Landmark "Overlook" Chardonnay 2014, Sonoma, CA, $26.99
"Alluring aromas of smoky, toasty oak and rich flavors of fig, apricot and melon give this an appealing, drink-me-now character." 90pts WS

Catena Chardonnay Tupungato 2015, Argentina, $26.99
"There is one white in the appellation range, the 2015 Appellation Tupungato Chardonnay, which is subtly balsamic and spicy from limestone-rich soils in Tupungato in the Valle de Uco, from two vineyards, in Villa Bastías and La Esmeralda. There are pungent flavors, very good intensity and balance and the chalky sensation is nicely coated by juicy fruit. One for the table. 15,000 bottles produced. The first vintage was 2012." 92pts WA

Bernard Fouquet Vouvray "Silex" 2015, Loire Valley, France, $22.99
"The 2015 Vouvray Cuvée de Silex has a bright and pure, fresh and elegant bouquet of white fruits and some flinty notes. Pure and piquant on the palate, with a lovely juiciness and a piquant acidity, this is a very mineral and elegant Chenin from silex soils. The sweetness is perfectly intertwined with the piquant minerality and the serious body (13% alcohol); it tastes significantly less sweet than in the corresponding Le Plan de Jean. The finish is long and complex, and reveals a stimulating grip, as well as a great finesse and aging potential. However, compared to the Plan de Jean, it is still more austere and needs more time-either in the carafe or in the cellar, even more so because it is bottled under screw cap. I also compare it more to Riesling than to Burgundy, due to its linear, lean and racy character." 92pts WA

Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Tinto Barroca fermented and aged in stainless steel.

Yalumba Grenache "Old Bush Vine" 2014, Barossa, Australia, $21.99
"Pale garnet colored with a hint of purple, the 2014 Grenache Old Bush Vine offers enticing red cherry and raspberry preserves notes accented with suggestions of cinnamon stick, orange peel, red roses and white pepper. Medium-bodied and beautifully delicate in the mouth, it sure doesn't scrimp on the flavor, filling the palate with warm red berries and baking spice cushioned with soft tannins and finishing with great length." 90pts WA

Paolo Scavino Nebbiolo Langhe 2014, Piedmont, Italy, $28.99

Burlotto Dolcetto d'Alba 2013, Piedmont, Italy, $22.99

Landmark "Overlook" Pinot Noir 2014, CA, Reg. $27.99, Sale $22.99
Likely to be in Saturday's tasting lineup!

Silverado Merlot "Mt. George" 2012, Napa, CA, $34.99
"The 2012 Merlot Estate Grown Mt. George Vineyard is dark, plummy and forward, all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years. Raspberry jam, chocolate, herbs and licorice are all nicely delineated. The 2012 is juicy and expressive, while offering lovely contrasts between open-knit fruit and more earthy/savory notes that add complexity. " 90pts V

Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2013, CA, Reg. $46.99, Sale $39.99
"A polished and pretty 2013 cabernet that delivers blueberry, slate and blackberry aromas and flavors. Full-bodied yet reserved and tight. Drink or hold." 93pts JS

Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon "Geo" 2013, Coombsville, Napa, CA, $
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon GEO is gorgeous. Dark, powerful and intense, the 2013 shows quite a bit more depth and overall intensity than the 2012 tasted alongside it. Black cherry, plum, menthol, licorice and spice all fill out the wine's frame nicely. The 2013 GEO is an attractive, mid-tier Napa Valley Cabernet that will drink well with minimal cellaring." 92pts V

Bacio Divino "Proprietary Red" 2013, Napa, Reg. $99.99, Sale $49.99***
"One of their best efforts ever (and that says something, given how many fine wines have been produced under the Bacio Divino moniker), the 2013 Bacio Divino, which is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (sourced from four different vineyards) and Sangiovese (from the Benessere Vineyard in St. Helena), is a beautifully complex wine with big, sexy notes of new saddle leather, blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, silky tannins, a full-bodied, voluptuous texture and lots of personality and glycerin-filled fruit. This is a beauty to drink over the next 7-8 years" 95pts WA, ***Only 16 bottles of this crazy deal to be had; it is scheduled to arrive Friday afternoon; respond to this email to reserve your bottles. First Come, First Served - Happy Hunting!***

La Rioja Alta "Vina Ardanza" Rioja Reserva 2007, Spain, $47.99
"A blend of Tempranillo with 20% Garnacha, the Tempranillo from 30-year-old vineyards. The grapes are fermented separately with natural yeasts and the Tempranillo then matured in American oak barrels averaging four years old for 36 months, while the Garnacha matured in second- and third-use American oak barrels for 30 months. The nose is very fresh, with notes of beef blood, iron, cherries in liqueur, some subtle leather and spices plus notes of autumn forest and truffles. The palate is more lively and has some tannins that would feel better integrated with some food or a little bit of time in bottle It was bottled in November 2011. This will be released around September/October 2015, so by the time it hits the shelves it will be more polished. Great value for money." 94pts WA

Odette Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Stag's Leap, Napa, CA, $149.99
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate exhibits graphite, blackberry and cassis, chocolate and a touch of mineral in a full-bodied, layered and impressively pure style. It's a big wine for Stags Leap (15.4% alcohol), but gorgeously pure, with everything well-knit into a sensational equilibrium. This is only a baby, but promises to hit its peak in 7-10 years and last 25-30." 95+pts WA
