2017 Conservation Treatment Grant
Application Portal Will Open 1/1/17!

The Conservation Treatment Grant Program is a partnership of the  New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and Greater Hudson Heritage Network (GHHN) that provides support for treatment procedures by professional conservators to aid in stabilizing and preserving objects in collections of museums, historical and cultural organizations in New York State. Applications will be accepted from non-profit 501(c)3 museums, historical organizations or other cultural institutions that own, care for and exhibit collections to the public. Grant awards will be made to institutions lacking in-house conservation staff with expertise in the area for which support is requested. Collections owned by state or federal agencies are ineligible for grant support. Organizations may submit only one request, which may involve a single object or a group of related objects, all owned by the applicant institution. Objects that interpret the history/heritage of New York State are strongly encouraged to apply for conservation. Individual grant awards will not exceed $7,500. No match required.

Please note, our application is PAPERLESS. The online application portal will open on 1/1/17 and will remain open until the deadline of 3/1/17. You may work on and/or submit your application at any point during that time period. Informational webinars on how to apply and general eligibility guidelines will be posted shortly. Please contact GHHN at 914.592.6726 or [email protected] with any questions you may have.

The NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Treatment Grant Program is made possible with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts,

$1,500 Grants Available Now for Suffrage Plans
In 2017 it will be 100 years since New York State signed woman's suffrage into law, three years before the US passed the 19th Amendment. This was a milestone for the state and a transformative moment in American democracy. Equal opportunity is as important a topic today as it was when Susan B. Anthony was arrested in Rochester for attempting to vote.
This historical moment is the perfect time to frame a statewide discussion about the social, professional and political equality of women-and by extension, all citizens-in New York State. Through dialogue about our shared history and our common future, the New York Women's Suffrage Centennial (The Centennial)  will produce a statewide conversation that celebrates the accomplishments of the past while helping us become a more just and equitable society for all.
If you're planning programs for 2017 that relate to the themes of The Centennial, apply today to HumanitiesNY(formerly NY Council for the Humanities)for a Vision or Action grant to support your work! Visit http://humanitiesny.org/our-work/special-initiatives/womens-suffrage/  for more information,  or make an appointment today to discuss your proposal idea s.
