DO MORE 24

MASBHC is proud to be participating in United Way of the National Capital Area's Do More 24! - a local movement that leverages the power of the crowd to support our region's nonprofits through focused, online giving. On June 19th from midnight to midnight, you have the opportunity to support the causes you care about by making a donation of $24 or more to nonprofits that serve our region.

New Back to School Immunization Requirements

Beginning with the 2014-15 school year, there are new school immunization requirements, as outlined in COMAR 10.06.04.03. These new requirements will impact Kindergarten and 7th grade students. Please see the chart below for the new requirements and below for additional resources. When your patients come for these newly-required vaccinations, please take the opportunity to administer other recommended vaccines, such as HPV (3 doses), Influenza, and Hepatitis A vaccines. While these vaccinations are not required for school entry, they are recommended for adolescents by CDC, AAP, AAFP, and the Maryland Medicaid Program.  

 

Grade Level

New immunization Requirement

Kindergarten Students

Varicella: Two (2) doses of Varicella vaccine are required for Kindergarten

7th Grade Students

Tdap: A single dose of Tdap vaccine  is required for all students entering 7th grade

7th Grade Students

 

Meningococcal (MCV4): A single dose of MCV4 vaccine  is required for all students entering 7th grade

MASBHC 2014 Conference Recap 

 

MASBHC's 2014 Annual Spring Conference, The Changing Landscape of School-Based Health Care, was held on May 15th at the Rockland Conference Center located at the Stevenson University's Owings Mills Campus. The conference had over 130 attendees, 2 Keynote Speakers, 8 breakout sessions, and 11 vendor exhibits
