Message from the President
|
As we roll into the second half of the year the Alabama CCIM Chapter is hard at work on behalf of our members. The Alabama Chapter hosted a CI 104 class June 21-24, CCIM Foundations To Success May 2-3 and continuing education courses April 22, May 13 and June 8. The annual Braves trip proved to be as popular as ever this year. Seventy members and their guests networked with Georgia CCIM Chapter members while the Braves pulled off a rare win. I heard of at least two of our members making real deal connections with Georgia CCIM members at the event. That is what CCIM networking is all about!
On September 22 the Chapter will host a fundraising event for the United Way in conjunction with CCIM Institute's

otion campaign. Our second annual
'Toast to United Way'
will be held Thursday, September 22
nd
on the rooftop patio of the Kress Building in downtown Birmingham. Please bring your spouse, clients and friends and join us for a wine tasting, prizes and silent auction at one of Birmingham's most spectacular venues. Space is limited for this event.
We are working to bring back a bigger, better Beach Meeting for 2017! The Mobile Gulf District of the Alabama CCIM Chapter is spearheading this new effort and working in conjunction with the Florida CCIM Chapter to bring our members a larger, more productive event that will attract the attention of the national CCIM audience. I greatly appreciate the leadership of 2016 District President, Pratt Thomas and the District Board of Directors in this effort. We are looking forward to a great event in 2017 and beyond.
Our new marketing campaign to promote the CCIM designation will begin soon. The new effort will be directed at clients and CRE service providers (lawyers, CPS's, financial advisors) and will emphasize the importance of having a CCIM Designee involved in every CRE transaction. We want every client and advisor in every CRE deal to ask their broker about the CCIM designation. A new website with greater capabilities for event registration and networking will be ready by September 1st.
In addition, we will be seeking out opportunities to get in front of CRE service provider organizations to educate them on the value of the CCIM designation.
Sincerely,
Bryan A. Holt, CCIM
2016 Chapter President
