FORE Education Foundation Golf Tournament Honoree
The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation will honor Dr. Peter Mora at the annual FORE Education Golf Tournament. Dr. Mora recently retired as the President of Atlantic Cape Community College after a prestigious 41 year career at the college. 

During his tenure at Atlantic Cape Community College, Mora - an Upper Township resident - was instrumental in the opening of the Cape May County campus, changing the name from Atlantic County College to Atlantic Cape Community College, and introducing high school dual/concurrent credit programs with local high schools. With the opening of the Cape May County campus, Dr. Mora supported many partnerships with the business community to provide easy access to business and professional development seminars.

Customer Service Seminars
In an effort to heighten the customer experience for visitors to Cape May County in the highly competitive tourism industry, the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce and Atlantic Cape Community College have partnered to provide valuable customer service training free of charge to local businesses. 

The Jersey Cape Experience, Serving Dreams in 2017 will teach front line staffers the importance of being engaged with customers, delivering exceptional service, and inspiring great experiences to visitors to The Jersey Cape this summer season.  Ten sessions for front line employees of tourism businesses will be offered throughout Cape May County from May 31 through June 28.  Two sessions for managers and supervisors of tourism businesses will be offered as well as two sessions for all other businesses in the county who provide products and services in Cape May County.

Menendez, Booker, Pallone Reintroduce COAST Act in Response to Trump Executive Order to Expand Offshore Drilling

U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and Congressman Frank Pallone (N.J.-06) visited the Belmar Boardwalk with U.S. Senator Cory Booker to announce that today they will reintroduce the Clean Ocean and Safe Tourism (COAST) Anti-Drilling Act that would ban offshore oil and gas drilling in the Atlantic Ocean.  On Friday, President Trump signed an executive order that takes the first steps towards allowing offshore oil and gas drilling along the East Coast.


Many Paths, One Future Internship Program
The NJ Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) has set a goal to have 65% of NJ residents with a post-secondary degrees or industry valued credentials by 2025, better known as "65 by 25." In support of this goal, LWD has committed to a $1.5 million dollar investment to assist high school and college students obtain paid internships. The Many Paths, One Future Internship Grant will reimburse employers 50% of wages paid to new interns, up to $1,500 per student. To qualify for the reimbursement, companies must agree to consider interns for future job openings. Colleges and high schools will play an important role ensuring that students are in good standing and placed in meaningful internships.
