The winds of change have blown through the town of Reedsburg this fall. There is news of new businesses coming to town. Driving the streets of Reedsburg, it is easy to see the new housing that is taking place. The hospital has made again some improvements to their facilities. And Yes, the School District of Reedsburg has an opportunity to invest in the future of its youngest citizens with the passage of its referendum. It was a year ago that I wrote in the newsletter the possibility of some major changes that could be on the horizon and it has happened.
The successful referendum has opened the door for our school district to advance our students educational experience.
Here at Pineview Elementary, like all the other staff in the district, we are continually looking for the best ways to reach the needs of all our children. There has been a new science curriculum adopted that the staff is getting familiar with. They are also looking at the students’ test scores in all curricular areas and then setting goals to make sure all students grow. With Parent-Teacher Conferences taking place recently, the schools had a chance to visit with the parents about where their children are at academically and socially. I am always impressed with the excellent dialogue that comes from these meetings. It is a good reminder to me on how much everyone cares for the children of this community.
Thanks to all who embrace positive change and thanks to all who make a positive difference in the lives of our youth!
