Sensory Strategies for Sleep

We all know how a good (or bad) night of sleep can make or break everything we do the next day - and even for days to come. Sleep allows our brains and bodies a chance to recharge and to be ready for the activities of the day ahead. Insufficient sleep can affect attention, cognition,  and social skills, and impact a child's ability to participate in age-appropriate activities.

Children with diagnoses of ADHD, cerebral palsy, brain injury, autism spectrum disorder and other conditions are especially prone to sleep problems - in fact, 50-80% of children with autism have sleep disorders. A child's quality of sleep plays a huge role in a parent's wellbeing and overall stress level, as well.

Check out this month's featured blog post for ideas on how to improve your child's sleep.

Parents' Morning Out

December 2, 2017
9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Do you need to finish your Christmas shopping? Just need a moment by yourself?

We are hosting a Parents Morning Out open to the children we serve as well as their siblings (over age 2).  This is a free event. Limited space available. Sign up required in order to attend.  See front desk to sign up.
Intensive Therapy Sessions

Have you checked the balance of your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) lately?
Do you know how many covered therapy visits your child has used this year?

We are offering intensive therapy sessions this November and December that may benefit your child AND help you maximize your health care spending. Families with an FSA need to use up the money in their account by December 31 so that it isn't lost forever, and intensive therapy can help you do that while also helping your child progress. If your child hasn't yet used all of his or her covered therapy visits for 2017, choosing intensive therapy now may be a good choice - especially if you anticipate your child will need more therapy in 2018 than your insurance plan will cover.

Call or stop by the front desk to verify what options are available to you.
