Leah Stewart Concludes
25th Anniversary Author Series
Award winning novelist Leah Stewart
delivered a riveting reading and talk on November 4th, at the closing event in the 25th Anniversary Author Series. To illustrate her topic, "Beginnings", Leah read and discussed the first chapter, or more, of each of her novels. She talked about the "motor" of the plot and explained why the choices an author makes early on in the narrative make all the difference in how readers engage. It was a fascinating evening.
On Saturday, November 5th, Leah led a workshop on "Changing Perspective". The fifteen attendees participated in a series of writing exercises that examined point of view, and how to decide as writers which to use for different reasons and effects. Every writer present declared the class tremendously helpful and informative. Thank you, Leah!
Leah Stewart is a Professor and the Director of Creative Writing at the University of Cincinnati. She has published five novels to date.
Sponsorship of the Author Series made possible by Annette Januzzi Wick and Mark D. Manley,
with gratitude for 25 years of

Many thanks to Annette and Mark!
