LAAC in Action
LAAC Advocacy Alert!

The Governor signed the budget! As we previously reported in last month's LAAC in Action, this budget was a big win for legal aid funding.  The budget includes an additional $10 million in the Equal Access Fund for each of the next two years and a set-aside of 25% of all state cy pres awards - the funding to be distributed by the Equal Access Fund formula.

Don't know what that formula is? Follow us on Facebook, and you'll see a video posted later this week with an explanation of statewide funding for legal aid.

Helpful Resources

LAAC recently created  a page for new EDs  that we think all staff might like. We're also exploring a CA Legal Aid Slack project (with specific channels like "Work-Life Balance," one to share memes about legal aid, and one to share lunch or happy-hour meet-ups). Let Lorin Kline know if you want to help us build it out - email her at [email protected]!
