2017 State of Mentoring in Virginia: Survey Results Released

In 2016, VMP gathered data from Virginia programs as part of a national effort by MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership to gain information about the services, staffing, funding, participants (mentor/mentee demographics), and needs of youth mentoring programs.  At the state level, survey data provided helpful information on the following topics:
  • Popular program models and structure
  • Demographic information for volunteer mentors and youth served
  • Implementation of quality practices
  • Common challenges or supports needed
This data is instrumental to MENTOR and VMP's advocacy, awareness-building, and programmatic support efforts, and can be used by programs to inform their recruitment messaging, communication with stakeholders, and fundraising efforts.  Click here to read VMP's one-page analysis of results. Thank you to the Virginia programs that participated in these survey efforts. Make sure your program's data is included - Participate in VMP's 2018 State of Mentoring data collection efforts in the spring of next year.
