What is the most important lesson you learned over the summer that will help you finish your degree?

I feel that I have learned to be more efficient with my work. The CH team has helped me tremendously by showing me how the company goes about approaching the multifaceted planning and design process, as well as the administrative side necessary to keep the projects moving. In the process, I've learned to be more organized with my work, which helps in a collaborative workforce like Landscape Architecture.

What was your biggest challenge this summer and how did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge for me was learning the area and where projects were in relation to each other. When I'd get a new project to work on, I would use google earth and site visits to help get accustomed to the project and the surrounding area. Getting to see the site in person helped me visualize the final product of the work I was doing. Learning the streets was especially helpful when people would mention projects using the main streets as place marks.

What was the most memorable project you worked on and why?

The high end private residence North Palm Beach was my favorite project I worked on this summer. The client had these unique and fun concepts to incorporate into the landscape design which made the project more challenging but exciting to develop. The plant palette was also adventurous making the design an all-around new experience for me. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product!
