Blessings!
Hi Amazing St. Patrick Families!!!
I am Nancy Longo, your new Director of Religious Education at St. Patrick. I am excited to be walking this journey of faith with you for this year!
For those who don't know me, or haven't heard, my husband and I moved here a year ago this week from Long Beach, California. We bought a cute little house in Hutto and it has been a great year settling in! We have 7 grown children and 15 grandchildren who live in 4 states - so Texas seems like a great place to meet in the middle!
I have been doing faith formation for 20 plus years (it doesn't seem that long!!! It's kind of like watching our children grow up - the days are long, but the years fly by!) And I am so happy to be here at St. Patrick in Hutto! I am excited to be part of this great faith community!
I am looking forward to meeting all of you (please forgive me if I can't remember your name right off the bat!) I love Jesus and I love seeing families get excited about living their faith!
I know that this is a crazy time of the year - getting ready for school and all! But know that YOU ARE LOVED by a GOD who created you out of love - so that you can share that love with others - God first, then yourself and your family! then outward to those He puts in your path! God is not an extra thing to do, but part of everything you do! Even in the craziness of getting your kids ready for school!
We all have a story of God! He created us and He is inviting us to be closer to Him, if we let Him! I have been "all over the place" in my faith and I can say that my life has truly never been better than when I have actually let God take the lead in my life! It's like a roller coaster ride, the great times are exciting and the hard times are easier knowing He is there by my side! Sometimes I just have to close my eyes and Trust!
Letting GOD Take the Lead
This is a story of how GOD wants to have a personal relationship with you. It is a wonderful depiction of how you can grow to trust Him and learn to follow His direction.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

A tandem bicycle Ride with God
- by anonymous
We, at St. Patrick Religious Education have some exciting things planned for your children and for you as parents. I hope you enjoy the tandem bicycle ride you are about to jump on! Don't worry about all the busyness and craziness of life - use this as one of the 2 hours each week as a time for a breather! (The other hour is Mass on Sunday of course!)
If you need child care for a younger one, please let me know!
Be blessed! I am so looking forward to working with you!

If your high school teen is ready for the Sacrament of Confirmation:
Confirmation is a sacrament that deepens our faith and allows us to see how the Holy Spirit is working in our life! The goal of the confirmation process is for every teen to ask questions, search for God in their own individual way; coming to their own understanding of how much God loves them and how the Catholic Church helps them grow closer to God through the mass, sacraments and the community.
Confirmation Process is two years and is for teens from the 9th-12th grades.
- 1st year of preparation is attending SPY on Sundays (yes, you must register)
- 2nd year of preparation is attending SPY on Sundays and attending a Confirmation class on Monday's during the school year.
- Confirmation Class opening day is Monday, October 16th from 6:30-8:00pm. It is for parents and teens. You will receive a schedule at that time.
In the
2nd year of the Confirmation Process, your teen will be asked to attend a Retreat - The dates are April 7 & 8. It is at St. Mary's in Taylor, Texas and teens will go home at night and return the next day. You will receive more information at the parent/teen session.
