  Upledger Study Groups
and Practice Groups

Enjoy the Benefits...
Study Groups create wonderful opportunities to practice the skills you have already learned and further your understanding of your chosen modality by sharing experiences and asking questions of other like-minded practitioners.

Study Groups include hands-on practice, techniques review and time available to have your questions answered.  Study Groups are led by Instructors, Teaching Assistants, or Certified Therapists.

Practice Groups are more informal, and allow for students to practice in order to prepare for further study.

About CS1 with Carol McClellan in Salt Lake City

So glad my path has led me here now - can't wait to use it. I can't believe I learned all 10 steps in such a short time - great to be able to take this in its entirety with me. Good balance between lecture and hands-on.
  - J. Schlecten, OT

IN LOVING MEMORY

The Upledger family is mourning the loss of two remarkable men this year who will be forever loved and remembered for the impact they had on everyone they came across. Their imprint on the entire manual therapy world will continue to serve as inspiration and guidance to all of us for many years to come.

HOW CST HELPED
SAVE MY BABY
First Published in
Upledger Institute E-News UpDate
October 17, 2006

Dear Upledger Institute,

I am the mom that submitted this letter. And since CST has continued to be a part of our life, I thought you'd enjoy an update.

In 2005 we completed 13 sessions of CST in Portland Oregon.  My son - who was 3 at the time, had significant improvement in his ability to tolerate life after each session.  At the end of 2005, we moved from Oregon to Kansas City, KS. I had a hard time finding a certified CST pediatrician in our area. 6 weeks after our arrival, my 3 year old was asking to "get a message" (which is what we called CST). His behavior digressed, his sensory issues returned, and we started looking for help.

AN ANSWER TO YOUR PAIN:
CST for Health and Healing
"Phineas"

The following is an excerpt from
An Answer to Your Pain
Submitted by Diane Ripper of Bellingham, WA
CranioSacral Therapy Practitioner since 2010

Although Phineas was normal at birth, we knew that he was
different by age three. All the doctors insisted, however, that he was fine and just didn't "want" to ride a bike. By the time he
was four, he qualified for special education preschool for gross motor skills.

Phineas was labeled generally as "developmentally delayed" and
also clearly had sensory processing disorder. He qualified for occupational therapy and speech therapy. Because processing new information was hard for him, he would change the conversation to something that he could lead. For example, if asked, "Where do you go to school?" he might respond, "I'm a Komodo dragon!"
