Did You Know?
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Board of Directors has adopted a broad new statement on Scientific Freedom and Responsibility. AAAS defined the two concepts, emphasizing how each is essential to the advancement of human knowledge and that they are inextricably linked. A new website launched in conjunction with the statement provides resources to help maintain scientific freedom and integrity "amid the complexities and ambiguities of everyday science." More

Encore OnCore! Nov. Forum Celebrates Enterprise-Wide Rollout of Powerful Clinical Trials Management System
More than 60 clinical investigators, research coordinators, and others interested in next-generation clinical trial research joined CCTS to toast the launch of OnCore. CCTS Director Dr. Robert Kimberly highlighted the system's many advantages and a panel of implementation experts and several super users answered attendees' questions. More

Are you interested in novel ways to increase participation of under-represented communities in clinical trials? On Dec. 14, the Trial Innovation Network will present a webinar on the Strengthening Translational Research in Diverse Enrollment (STRIDE) eConsent tool, which aims to personalize a process considered by many to currently hamper recruitment. STRIDE represents a collaboration among UAB, UMass, and Vanderbilt Medical Center. More

The 2018 RII Track-2 FEC topic area is "Understanding the Relationship between Genome and Phenome," with funding ranging from $5 million to $7.5 million.  At least one co-PI from a separate EPSCoR jurisdiction is required. Support for non-lead collaborating institutions are requested as subawards. Separately submitted collaborative proposals are not allowed. Each participating EPSCoR jurisdiction must have at least one co-PI on the project.   Letter of Intent due Nov. 27 by 5pm. More
