Dear Members of the Thacher Montessori Community:

 

Since our last update in September, we have made a lot of progress on the search for Thacher's next Head of School.

 

As you may have noticed, we have completed the position description and that document is now posted on the Head of School Search page on Thacher's website. Thanks to many in the community for their help in pulling this document together.

 

The community survey will remain open through Monday evening, October 9. If you have not done so already (and many have, thank you!), please take a few minutes over the weekend to share your thoughts with the search committee: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ThacherHOS . Already the survey has provided important information and context for the search committee.

 

Beth Dietz and Peter Philip, our consultants from Carney, Sandoe & Associates are now busy recruiting and vetting candidates for the position. They report good progress; the Head of School position at Thacher is a very attractive opportunity.

 

Looking ahead, the work of our search committee will go into a confidential phase as we consider candidates and interview several of them. We anticipate sharing names of finalists for the position in early January.
