NNCG Welcomes Melinda Fine to the Steering Committee

We are pleased to welcome
Melinda Fine of TCC Group to the NNCG Steering Committee. Melinda Fine, Ed.D., is TCC Group's Director of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships with years of experience in philanthropy and nonprofit leadership as a grantmaker and strategy consultant to her work with mission-driven institutions. Prior to joining TCC, Melinda served as the Vice President of NEO Philanthropy. She holds a doctorate and master's in education from Harvard University, and a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College. Melinda will chair our task force designed to address the issue of how we might support our consultant members and foundation partners as they navigate their response to changes at the federal level.

Thank you to the years of dedication to NNCG from Dara Major . Dara is an independent strategy and management consultant. Dara wrote, "It has truly been a pleasure to help champion NNCG's mission and people over the last five years. From joining as a member in 2012 to task force and then steering committee service, this has been both a fun and meaningful journey. Today, NNCG is moving in to its next, wonderful chapter and I know great things are ahead thanks to ...the [Steering Committee's] collective leadership.  I will continue to champion NNCG as a member and fan, and wish you all the best in the work ahead!"

We are deeply saddened to mark the passing of our NNCG charter member, Paul Connolly. Paul was the Director of Philanthropic Advisory Services at Bessemer Trust. Learning for Action is excited to announce the release of a new capacity building study, conducted as part of a funder-led initiative to better coordinate capacity building funding efforts in the greater Chicago area. The study draws on national lessons and models to inform an analysis of what is and is not working in relation to nonprofit capacity building in Chicago's social sector. The study includes takeaways for individual nonprofits, funders, and capacity building providers.

On June 13th, Kris Putnam-Walkerly will present p art two of a three-part webinar series on how family foundations are embracing equity for the  National Center for Family Philanthropy.
