VHHA Lobby Day 

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association invites VHHA members to join us in Richmond for a day of advocacy on behalf of our hospitals and healthcare systems.

VHHA staff will brief attendees in the morning on current legislative issues (COPN, hospital financing, rural hospitals and more) in the 2018 General Assembly session. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with their local representatives to discuss issues and share their experiences, participate in a press conference, and engage with government leaders at an evening reception.

Briefing & Lobbying 101 Conference Call – Monday, January 15, 4:00 p.m.  Lobby Day registrants are invited to call in for an early briefing from VHHA advocacy staff to learn more about the lobbying process and the VHHA legislative agenda before traveling to Richmond.

8:00 a.m.         Breakfast and legislative briefing – VHHA downtown office, 830 E Main St, 12^th floor
9:00 a.m.         Morning Legislative visits – Pocahontas General Assembly Building, 900 E Main St
10:00 a.m.       VHHA Press Conference
12:00 p.m.       View the House of Delegates and Senate in session – Virginia State Capitol
12:45 p.m.       Lunch – VHHA downtown office
1:30 p.m.         Afternoon Legislative Visits – Pocahontas General Assembly Building
5-7 p.m.           VHHA Legislative Reception

Additional 2018 Lobby Day Opportunities:  Wednesdays, January 24^th and January 31^st
VHHA will organize Lobby Days on the following two Wednesdays. If any groups or individuals would like to coordinate visits on a particular day, please contact Kelly Cannon. On each of these days, we will provide morning breakfast briefings and lunch, and assist your government relations staff with scheduling legislative meetings with your local representatives. We do not plan to host a press conference or legislative reception on these days.
