Teacher Advisory Council Makes Impact |
|
Members of the Teacher Advisory Council (TAC) |
Since 2014, Crayons to Computers has been working behind the scenes with a group of dedicated teachers, who make up our Teacher Advisory Council (TAC). This council was developed as a way to involve the teachers and school staff we serve in making decisions related to the Teacher Free Store. The TAC meets four times each year, with additional questions and discussions handled via email. We collaborate on a variety of topics, including Teacher Free Store Policies, current product offerings, new ways to utilize our resources, current educational requirements and best practices. The TAC represents a varied group of teachers, grade levels, and school districts that we serve.
We are always looking for new additions to our Teacher Advisory Council team. If you are interested in participating, please contact Stefanie at [email protected].

Crafts with Conviction Continues to Provide Critical Tools for Success |
|
Sarah Westrich and Sara Plaskett with inmates at Madison Correctional Institution |
Crayons to Computers has been partnering with the Ohio Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation for nearly 20 years, through our Crafts with Conviction (CwC) program! Each month over 400 incarcerated men, women, and youth at 15 different facilities work over 6,000 hours to produce CwC products.
Without their hard work, Crayons would not be able to offer the wide variety of educational activities that are currently offered in the store. We reuse unique materials to produce hands-on activities and other tools that are critical to classroom success. According to our May Teacher Poll, 88% of teacher shoppers shop the CwC section of our Free Store. Check it out the next time you shop.
Please contact our Crafts with Conviction Coordinator, Sara Plaskett, at
[email protected]
with any questions, comments, or ideas.
