Celebrating Springfield's Biggest, Best and Brightest

Thanks to everyone who made Star Spangled Springfield such a memorable night for all who attended.  The 215th Army Band of the Massachusetts Army National Guard gave up their Independence Day to spend it performing in Springfield.  Fireworks by Grucci, as always, did a tremendous job.

But a special thank you to the City of Springfield and the many departments that supported the event - Facilities, Parks, Public Works, Police and Fire.

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Star Spangled Sparkled

The jet engines roared as Colonel Peter Green, Vice Commander of the 104th Fighter Group, made his remarks.  The sun set while the 215th Army Band of the Massachusetts Army National Guard performed.  The night sky was illuminated with the pyrotechnics shot from the Memorial Bridge.  It was truly Star Spangled Springfield.

Families enjoyed the concert.  They picnicked on blankets.  They were awed by the fireworks display.  They made memories to last until next year, or longer.

Star Spangled Springfield was sponsored by MassMutual with additional support from Tower Square.  Media sponsors were iHeart Media, MassLive, The Republican and WWLP-22News.  In- kind donors included Charlie Arment Trucking, Elegant Affairs, Michael's Party Rental , Joseph Freedman Company, United Tractor Trailer School ,
Springfield Parking Authority, H. P. Hood, Republic Services, and 90 Meat Outlet.

See all the great photos!

MGM Springfield

Since arriving in Springfield I have been captivated by the energy and engagement of this community.  There is excitement for every event and announcement that is helping to improve the city.  As the new guy on the block, I am both learning the ropes of Springfield and keeping my sights set on how MGM Springfield can brighten the future of the city.

At MGM Springfield, I will oversee everything that will impact the customer experience. MGM Resorts offers world-class service and experiences, but these efforts are only as good as the employees who deliver them; the warm front-desk attendant, the informative concierge, the helpful valet, the attentive waiter and the jovial bartender. We need them all and more at MGM Springfield and I will be focused on hiring for these positions soon.

So as I settle in and get to know you better, I want to emphasize two things:  1. Think about people you know who may be looking for a career opportunity to be part of something exciting.  2.  It is not lost on me the countless community leaders and everyday Springfield advocates, like the Spirit of Springfield team, have worked tirelessly to advocate the MGM Springfield mission to this point.  I want to sincerely thank you, as it is you who have given me this incredible opportunity.  I now proudly and eagerly work side by side with you to bring this game changing vision to life.
