FEATURED EVENT:Century Students Meet With U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici
Century High School seniors Jenny Nguyen and Tina Tep, and junior Anne Nguyen joined healthcare providers and officials in a meeting with U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici on Oct. 27 at the Century High School School-Based Health Center (SBHC). As representatives of the Hillsboro School District's Student Health Advisory Council, they talked about how the SBHC benefits HSD students and families, and the importance of federal funding to support the center's work.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7; Ballot Drop Sites

Tuesday, Nov. 7, is election day and everyone in our community is urged to vote! If you have not yet turned in your ballot, you must take it to a drop site by 8 p.m. on the 7th - it is too late to mail your ballot.
Official drop sites are located at the Hillsboro Public Libraries, 2850 NE Brookwood Pkwy. and 775 SE 10th Ave.; Cornelius City Hall, 1355 N. Barlow St.; and North Plains City Hall, 31360 NW Commercial St. Volunteers will also be available at some schools to collect ballots and deliver them to official drop sites. Hilhi Girls Soccer Team Surprises Rival Team with Donation
When the Hilhi Girls Varsity Soccer team played Hood River Valley High School in September, they decided to give "secret sister"
gifts to the players and also donate $500 for them to use at their discretion to help their school and community rebuild after the Eagle Creek Fire. They recently heard from that team's coach about the results of their generosity.

Assistance League Provides New Clothing to 700 HSD Students
This fall, approximately
700 HSD students in grades K-5 received brand new clothes through the Assistance League of Greater Portland's
Operation School Bell Program. Next to be served will be students in grades 6-12 because, as the Assistance League's motto states, "no child should wear poverty to school." We are deeply grateful to the partnership we have had with the Assistance League since 1998!
Homework Help Returns to Shute Park Library
Homework help sessions have returned to Hillsboro's Shute Park Library branch on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Help is available on a drop-in basis for students in grades 1-12.
