Commercial real estate company JLL has released a report on Pittsburgh's Downtown real estate market that finds rental rates and occupancy on the rise.
As of first quarter 2017, 11.7 percent of Downtown's skyline is vacant, down from 12.1 percent last year. The national average is 12.9 percent.

A Chicago developer has set its vision for an nearly vacant warehouse across Smallman Street from the Strip District's produce terminal.

A Fortune 500 insurer intends to enter the Pittsburgh-area Medicare Advantage market next year, offering plans that provide patients with access to both UPMC and Allegheny Health Network health systems, as well as a plan for those dually eligible for Medicare and medical assistance.

Astrobotic has found its ride to the moon. 
The Pittsburgh-based space company announced Wednesday that it will catch a ride to the moon on a   United Launch Alliance rocket in 2019. 
Astrobotic's pairing with ULA is a major step toward the company's lunar aspirations. Finding a launch partner can take years and often derails or delays missions.

At least 28 of the 1,585 properties that make up Downtown Pittsburgh are tax delinquent. 
Twenty-five parcels have received tax abatements and another 39 are vacant.

A newly created task force will look for ways to train and provide more qualified workers for the construction trades as large building projects in and around Pittsburgh are poised to take off, Mayor Bill Peduto said Wednesday.

Two concrete plants, set up to supply Royal Dutch Shell's under-construction cracker plant in Beaver County, are now running in Midland, according to a report from the Beaver County Times.
