countywide and worldwide event by participating in International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 4. Last year, a record number 54 schools in Solano County participated and we hope to reach our goal of 60 or more schools this year.
Take these 3 STEPS participate:
Step 1: Register your school on our website at

. All registered schools will receive incentive items to distribute to students that walk to school that day. We will deliver a week prior to the event date while supplies last, so register by
Wednesday
,
September 27
to allow time for delivery.
Step 2: Identify a lead volunteer for your school and coordinate a team of approximately 4-6 additional volunteers for the morning of October 4
.
The team should arrive about 30 minutes before student arrival and position themselves at the major entrances of the school to give prize tickets to the students walking to school.
Step 3: Promote the event and distribute posters throughout the school
. Be a champion in getting your school and community involved! Post on your school’s marquee, if available. If you would like additional copies, you can download posters in English and Spanish on our website
