Wow, those winds were whipping!
Here in Vermont, we had a wicked windstorm Sunday night - lots of our customers throughout the state are still without power, though the electric companies are working to have everyone's power restored by this weekend. Time for some handwork in front of the windows during the day, and some quilt planning by candlelight in the evening. We never run out of ideas for new quilts - what better time to plan the next ones than when you can't work on your current project?

We had a great weekend for the Halloween Haunt Tour! Lots of you were out and about, and we had fabulous weather for most of it. We hope you had a wonderful time - we certainly loved seeing you! The grand prize drawing will take place soon, with the winner's name posted when it's drawn. Good luck!

Yankee Pride Helping Hands' next big sewing day takes place on Saturday, November 11 from 11 - 4. We have several quilts that just need the bindings handsewn, and there will also be some kits available for those who want to bring their sewing machines to make quilt tops. Please give us a call and let us know you're coming - we need to make sure we have room for everyone. We look forward to seeing you!

Notions, News & Other Notes

As we mentioned in the last newsletter, we are starting the Sulky Petites Thread Club this month. It's a six-month program, where you receive 13 or 14 spools of gorgeous 12-wt. thread each month to use for hand work. At the end of the program, you'll have 80 spools of thread, and a case to store them all in! There's still a little time to sign up, so call or stop in at the shop for more details!

Deb Tucker has done it again! Just arrived in the shop is the Four Patch Square Up Ruler from Studio 180 Design. We all make four-patch units, and although they're easy to piece, they don't always turn out quite as accurately as we'd like. The ruler is designed for easy, accurate trimming, and perfection every time. The Four Patch Square Up Ruler works for units in half- and whole-inch increments up to six inches finished.

Have you seen these lovely little baskets on the counter at the front of the shop? They are filled with end-of-the-bolt one-yard cuts. Each one has been marked down from the original price, so you're getting a deal on the last of these great fabrics!

Thank you, as always, for your business, and thank you for being our customer. We love that you still believe in shopping local!
