Keeping you up to date on the many ways Beverly Bootstraps provides critical resources to families and individuals so they may achieve self-sufficiency.
Nothing in life is free ... except tax preparation services through the EITC program at Beverly Bootstraps

Joey*, who is disabled and receives Social Security and also works part-time at a local grocery store, lives with his elderly grandmother who is also disabled. His grandmother knew Joey needed to get his taxes done but knew they needed help and wouldn't be able to pay someone else do them. But then she heard she could call Beverly Bootstraps for a tax appointment.

At the meeting Joey was able to get his taxes prepared by an IRS tax certified volunteer at Beverly Bootstraps. Due to the very limited income they have, they were thrilled that there was no cost for this valuable service. And even more excited to learn he qualified for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Joey said he was grateful for the EITC refund because his grandmother had recently been in the hospital and they could really use the extra money right now.

Thank you to North Shore Community Action Program and the United Way of Mass Bay and Merrimack Valley for their partnership in this program.

Exciting news:

Boots and Banjos Gala a huge success!
This past Friday was our first annual Gala fundraiser - the Boots and Banjos Gala with a whimsical western theme. Over 300 guests had a boot stomping good time snapping pics at the Selfie Shots photo booth, listening to the Chasing Blue Band pickin' their banjos and violins, dining on a delicious meal from Fireside Catering, and mingling with friends.

This was our most successful fundraiser to date. We appreciate the generosity of our sponsors, in-kind donors, auction and raffle donors and participants, and all of the guests who shared their Friday night with us!
