Upcoming Events
Although the final contract numbers are NOT in for FY16 (DOD reporting is not complete until the end of December), we will have final statistics in January, but thought I would share a few things with you:
- As in past years, the top agency dollars are coming from the ARMY (over $1+ bill) followed again by the Department of Veterans Affairs ($286 mill).
- The top 5 counties starting with the highest dollars
- o Winnebago - largest contractor Oshkosh Defense
- o Dane - Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS)
- o Milwaukee - Industries for the Blind
- o La Crosse - Logistics Health
- o Outagamie - Tower Industries
- The top 5 NEW contractors:
- o Calumet Diversified Meats - Pleasant Prairie
- o Silver Lake Construction - Milwaukee
- o PGB - Seymour
- o American Patriot Construction Services - Colgate
- o Quality Lockout - Milwaukee
After the October 24, 2016 DOD Manufacturing event that we hosted with Senator Baldwin and Oshkosh Defense, we received significant feedback asking for more training and assistance - both in selling to the DOD directly and the DOD supply chain. Therefore, we have scheduled several sessions in the upcoming months focusing on manufacturing. Some details are listed below - check our website for a full listing of events and training sessions

Inside the 'Monster Garage,' AFSOC's Secret Training Weapon
KIRTLAND AFB, New Mexico - A vehicle roars out of the back of an MC-130 at high speed, while nearby a man moves around in a virtual-reality headset. Above, winches are lowered and raised on a platform adorned with a Christmas tree. And at the center of it sits a former taco truck, now equipped with a really, really big gun.
It's not a fever dream of an Air Force maintainer, although it's not far off. It's the reality of Kirtland Air Force Base's "Monster Garage," a key and innovative part of training airmen from the US Air Force Special Operation Command (AFSOC).

IGs offer insight, advice to procurement industry ahead of new administration
The first year of an administration can bring sweeping changes in workforce and policy, but for the inspectors general overseeing agencies, it's business as usual.
Speaking on a panel during a Nov. 17 Coalition for Government Procurement event in Tysons Corner, Virginia, acting Defense Department Inspector General Glenn Fine said he didn't see the presidential transition "as dramatically different" than any other time of the federal year.
"To be honest, we're always busy," Fine said. "I'm sure we'll get additional requests, but we get them at all times. Somebody asked me the other day, is it gonna change now with one party controlling the presidency and Congress. I don't believe so. I believe that we are non-partisan, we're independent, and we're going to be doing what we're doing in the same way we're doing it, regardless of the political changes. And in fact, that's what I tell our folks in the IG community, that it is important for us not to be aligned with one side or the other, not to try to even maneuver in that way."
