On Friday (12/2), our girls' basketball beat Narbonne (47-35)  in the third round of pool play at the Battle at the Beach Tournament. Samanatha Inana led the Panthers with 17 points,  7 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Melissa Woo had 14 points, 8 steals, and 2 blocked shots. On Saturday, the Lady Panthers (3-1) beat Carson (52-42) to finish 3rd in the Gold Bracket. Jenna Yamada had 21 points, 4 steals, Samantha Inana had 9 points, 11 rebounds, and Orel Shilon added 8 points, 9 rebounds. 
 
Boys basketball won their home opener against the Culver City Centaurs, 57-38, on Wednesday evening. Pen took an early lead from the tipoff and controlled the game over the four quarters. Nick Frasso led the team with 16 points, followed by Blake Godbold with 13 points. The team worked the boards hard led by Jordan Gazdik grabbing nine rebounds and Tyler Hazzard with seven. Peninsula's next game will be away at North Torrance High School on December 14th. Over Christmas break, Pen will head to San Luis Obispo to compete in a holiday tournament (December 17-21), hosted by Mission Prep High School.    




In a non-league contest, our Lady Panthers battled North High.  The game remained scoreless until late in the second half as North scored the go ahead goal then played good defense to secure the 1-0 victory.

The Panther Boys' Soccer team won 5-3 Tuesday at home versus Crespi.   The boys showed their deep roster with 5 different players scoring. James Park, Hunter Walsh, Austin Wong, Kyle Chan, and Aaron Amirpanah all scored. Captain Arvine Esteva anchored the defense all game and added 2 assists, while James Park had one assist. Captain and goalie, Marco Merola, earned his second win of the early season.

On Thursday, our boys improved to 4-0 with a 4-0 victory over Compton.
