Continuing Competence Newsletter
Volume 1, Winter Issue December 2016
Each social work regulatory board has final authority in accepting any continuing education.

ASWB's Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program approves providers of social work continuing education. ASWB approves social work continuing education courses for the State of New Jersey. These approvals are separate processes.

Courses offered by ACE providers will not be accepted in New Jersey unless those courses have also been approved through the New Jersey CE course approval process.
The ACE program has implemented a new audit process for renewing providers. Audits will now be conducted at the time a provider's renewal application is received. Providers who submitted a renewal application packet any time in 2015 and 2016 may also be audited at this time. If you submitted your renewal packet during this time period, you may receive an audit report in the next few months.
The NJ CE forms and instructions have changed recently. Please make sure that you have the most recent forms and instructions.  New Jersey Information

Beyond CE: Regulating Competency in a Dynamic Profession

The topic of ASWB's 2017 Association Education Meeting is continuing competency, with the focus on regulation. ACE and New Jersey CE course providers are invited to attend either or both days of this two-day conference being held April 28-29 in Henderson, Nevada. The perspectives of continuing education providers would enrich the discussion, and providers will have the opportunity to learn about the issues social work regulators are addressing in their efforts to ensure their licensees remain competent, safe, and ethical practitioners. The registration fee is $150 to attend one day and $250 to attend both days. Fees cover breakfast and lunch on each day and the cost of CE credits.
