"Love" is a Gift that Requires No Wrapping!

Dear friends,

Many of our friends will celebrate Christmas this weekend. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2017. May you enjoy this time around your loved ones.

As you consider last minute gifts for your family and friends, consider the perfect gift of charity. Donate to an organization that reciprocates the same love and joy you want to bring to the world.  But before you donate, please do your homework! Doing so will help your hard earned money be put to good use. Charity Navigator or GuideStar are helpful resources to find related information for nonprofit organizations.

Consider these steps when you look to donate to any non-profit initiative.
  1. Transparency: Is the organization you want to donate to sharing its financial information publicly? Are their financial statements available for everyone to see?
You can find the last 10 years of Child Foundation's tax return forms and financial statements (completed by independent auditors) on our website
    here.

  2.  Evaluation: Has an independent organization evaluated the charity you want to donate to?
Child Foundation has received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator (their highest rating), Gold status from GuidStar and "Best" seal of approval from America's Best Charities.

  3.  Efficiency: What percent of your donations is applied to its programs?
Last year, Child Foundation spent only 3.39% on its administrative and 2.87% of its budget on its marketing projects. This means for every dollar you donated to Child Foundation, 93.47 cents was spent on our children and other humanitarian programs.
As you consider the gift of charity, make an effort to make your gift the most impactful to our global community. To donate, please use our donation page here, or visit our children waiting list here.

At Child Foundation, we believe our work is changing the face of the future one child at a time. We welcome you to join our mission and vision for a more inclusive, joyful world.

Thank You for Warming Up Our Homes!
As reported before, our Mazar-e-Sharif office has reported that they had been faced with a brutal cold front this year in Northern Afghanistan. The fierce winter weather has caused the death of more than 40 people. Many of our students cannot purchase coal to warm their homes.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Child Foundation was able to purchase coal to warm the homes of our students. If you would like to participate in this initiative, please donate here
Don't Forget Children of Aleppo!
Aleppo has gained global attention, and its situation continues to get worse. Tens of thousands of internally displaced people are leaving the city to join the refugee populations at crowded camps outside of Syria.

While Child Foundation does not have boots on the ground in Aleppo, we have presence in different refugee camps in Greece and our volunteers in the US who help refugee families. That's why Charity Navigator had selected Child Foundation as one of its twenty top US charities accepting donation for Syrian crises. If you would like to participate in this initiative, please donate to our refugee fund here
Volunteer in Greece Helps Syrian Children
Our wonderful volunteer, Ruja has been helping in different camps in Greece for over six weeks now. She had been involved with different educational projects for Arabic speaking children in Ritsona camp and kids who speak Persian in Oinofyta Camp.  Ruja teaches children to read, write, sing songs in their own language and helps them to forget the hard time they left behind.

In afternoons, she works with teenagers with focus on arts and therapeutic activities. She also conducts English classes in a female friendly space in Ritsona. During her daily routines, Ruja works with a variety of Kurdish, Iranian and Syrian women.

Child Foundation provided books for these camps and Ruja use them in her classes. Child Foundation, also provided funding to another group of volunteers who will provide medical services in other camps.

Many thanks to all of these devoted volunteers who are helping to make the world better for everyone. If you wish to donate to this project, please donate here.

CF @  iBdridge
Our wonderful volunteers in Spain helped us to have an informational booth in iBdridge 2016 in the city of Barcelona.
This event was a global met-up where hundreds of high-tech entrepreneurs of Iranian descent gather to exchange ideas and expertise.

More than 50 high tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, social entrepreneurs, and academics spoke at this conference.

Many thanks to Damon, Besharat and everyone who helped us in this event.
