3. New Language To Address Supplier Late Fees
The UC office of the president has updated the standard UC Terms and Conditions to include language informing suppliers that the UC won't pay late fees for orders that have been placed on or after May 16, 2017.  The new updated language now states: "Notwithstanding any other provision to the contrary, UC will not be responsible for any fees or interest Supplier wishes to impose for late payments."

If you receive invoices with late fees, the following statement can be used to dispute those charges.

"UC will not pay late fees for orders placed on or after May 16, 2017 as stated in the UC Terms and Conditions, Article 3 - Pricing, Invoicing Method, Payment Settlement, and Terms: UC T&C’s."

If you need assistance, please contact your assigned Buyer.

4. 'Did you know?' Useful BearBuy Tip Reminder

Q: I have a requisition that requires a signature on a contract, but it is under $5,000 and does not route to a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Buyer for review. How can I make sure my requisition will route to a SCM Buyer to review and sign the contract?

A: Upon checkout, select the "Buyer Intervention" checkbox on your requisition. The checkbox can be found on the Requisition's Summary tab, in the Internal Notes & Attachments section. After your department approves the requisition, it will route to your department's assigned Supply Chain Management (SCM) Buyer.

In general, c heck Buyer Intervention for orders that are equal to or less than $4999 AND fall into one of the categories below or into the Special Considerations categories:
