| Operation Christmas Child |
 Operation Christmas Child (sponsored by Samaritan's Purse) helps provide for needy children worldwide and is a great opportunity to give out of the abundance that God has given to us. Each class will be filling two shoeboxes to send, and collections will take place between October
23rd and November 10th.

- Pray for a return to peace and stability after decades of corruption, dictatorships, and terror.
- Pray for humble pastors trained in biblical theology who reflect Jesus to a watching culture.
- Pray for Christians to boldly oppose sin and injustice while also ministering to the poor and oppressed

Veterans Day Celebration - Friday, Nov 10
|
Invite your friends and family to this very special annual community event held at Heritage. We are thankful for our veterans, and we look forward to honoring them. Spread the word to your friends and neighbors so that we can pack the gym once again to celebrate and honor the brave men and women that have served our country.

Heritage Singers and Band Dress Code for Veterans Day Program
|
Attire should be as follows and is taken directly from the Parent/Student Handbook pg.53:
Students that are in Heritage Singers or band should wear concert dress:
Boys:
Pants: Khaki pants or dress slacks
Shirt: Collared shirt (Button down is preferred)
Dress shoes or sandals (no beach style flip-flops and no tennis shoes)
Girls:
Dress, skirt or dress slacks: Dresses must be within dress code for length and the width of shoulder straps
Blouse
Dress shoes or sandals (no beach-style flip-flops or tennis shoes).
As this is a day to honor the service of our military personnel, all students should be encouraged (not required) to dress nicely.

"Everything except the TURKEY..."
HCS Thanksgiving Canned/Boxed Food Drive
|
Help Heritage Christian School come together to provide "Everything except the TURKEY" for 50 families in our community! Beginning Monday, November 6th, all students are encouraged to bring in Thanksgiving type canned or boxed food. Each class has been assigned a specific type of food to bring in to reach our goal of providing enough food for 50 meals! Food should be placed in the appropriate box in the HCS hallway anytime between Monday, November 6th , and Friday, November 17th. The middle school students will deliver the food items on Friday, November 17th. Please see your child's Friday Folder for more information!

All School Thanksgiving Lunch - Friday, November 17
|
Friday, November 17th, will be our annual All School Thanksgiving Day Lunch. Again this year we'll have an opportunity for the entire school community to come together at the same time to give thanks through worship, eating, and fellowship. We look forward to spending time acknowledging together how God has blessed us as individuals, families, and a school.
Parents and grandparents, you are encouraged to arrive at school by 11:20am to join your child(ren) in the gymnasium for chapel, beginning at 11:30am. Following chapel, we will enjoy lunch "picnic-style" on the gym floor at 11:50am. Recess will follow outside from 12:30-1:00pm. If you did not order the boxed lunch, you are welcome to join us and bring your own lunch for yourself and your children. We'd love for all families to join us in giving THANKS!

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 20th and 21st. You should have received an email with a link to Sign-Up Genius for each of your child's teachers with available time slots. Volunteer Concessions Coordinator:
We are in need of a Concessions Coordinator for the upcoming basketball season. The main responsibilities of the Concessions Coordinator are to organize parent volunteers, purchase food items, and monitor the concessions stand on home games. If you would be interested in helping out the athletic program, please e-mail Serah Snell at [email protected] by Friday, November 8.
