The Wave
November 3, 2017

Our recent fun run has already made the patio in the back occur! We are installing pavers for the back area, in advance of the rain! We are working to combat the run off from the hillside, which runs right into the back of our building.  By using pavers, sand and gravel, we have created a better drainage system and a picnic area for the spring!  Thank you to everyone for the amazing fun run support. We were able to cover an outing to Sherwood Ice Arena for ice skating on November 17th, as well as the pavers for the back.

TRCS Friendsgiving!
TRCS Friendsgiving is coming on Nov. 16th - we sure hope you have your calendar marked for this fun event! The invite and potluck sign-up were sent out this week via Signup Genius!  Please check your email, RSVP, and sign-up to bring a dish to share. In addition to the community gathering, we will be helping our 8th graders collect food for the Oregon Food Bank. Please start collecting items to donate and think of things you would want to serve on your table. Read more about the guidelines for donations to the Oregon Food Bank.

Fred Meyer Rewards
We got some good news this week - for the third quarter of the year, TRCS received $46.49 from the Fred Meyer/Kroger Community Rewards program! Thank you to all of our parents and supporters that have linked their Fred Meyer Rewards card to us! If you haven't done this yet, it's so easy! Just go to the Fred Meyer website, and enter our school name and/or rewards number: Three Rivers Charter School # 83491.

You can also support us through your purchases with Amazon Smile and Office Depot! Just search for Three Rivers Charter School.

NEW Scrip Program!
We are so excited to share this new way to earn money for ODS and TRCS! eScrip has partnered with Benefit to create a fundraising app that is so easy to use and a great way to earn some money for your student's trip to ODS this year! Read more here. Basically, you need to download the app to your smart phone, search for TRCS and you can make purchases with your credit card or directly from your checking account. It's easy, convenient and we hope you will use this great new program!

**NOTE: We are still participating in the other scrip program, so you can always purchase that way as well!

Poetry Contest
We are participating in the Scholastic Student Poetry Contest this year! Students must submit their poetry by November 6th in order to meet the mailing deadline. Each student may submit only  one original poem on any subject, no less than 2 lines and no more than 20 lines. Winners can earn $25-100 for entering, with a grand prize of $500.
Too Sick for School?
We are now well into the school year and with the seasons changing, colds and flus have found their way to our students and staff! The health of everyone is very important to us, so we appreciate it when parents keep sick kids at home. Click here to read the "Too Sick for School?" flyer we distributed earlier this year. We encourage parents to talk to their student(s) about washing their hands regularly, and consider talking to the doctor about a flu shot. Stay healthy everyone!
NEW WEBSITE!
We are live!  This has taken us over 4 months to navigate, but we felt that we truly needed a more user friendly and updated website.  You will see many things that will be worked on, as we get to know the capabilities of our new site.  We hope you enjoy the pictures that we will be freshening up weekly. We are looking forward to showing off TRCS in its very best light to the public.
