For a quick overview of the credentialing council nomination process, 
 

PATH Intl. invites members to nominate qualified individuals to serve as PATH Intl. Credentialing Council voting representatives. An overview of the positions available and qualifications can be found below.  More detailed information about the responsibilities corresponding to each position can be reviewed here . Please note that some positions must be filled by individuals who are not PATH Intl. members, so this is a great opportunity to incorporate peers outside of PATH Intl.  

As communicated in the June 30th Trek to Accrediting the PATH Intl. Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification, the positions* to be filled are:
  • PATH Intl. Therapeutic Riding Instructor - Registered level
  • PATH Intl. Therapeutic Riding Instructor - Advanced level
  • PATH Intl. Therapeutic Riding Instructor - Master level
  • PATH Intl. Certified Driving Instructor - Level 1 or Level 2
  • PATH Intl. Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning
  • PATH Intl. Interactive Vaulting Instructor
  • PATH Intl. Lead Site Visitor
  • Premier Accredited Center - Smaller Center (under $300,000 in EAAT 
    revenue)
  • Premier Accredited Center - Larger Center (over $300,000 in EAAT revenue)
  • Representative at Large (must be either a representative from a PATH Intl.
  • Premier Accredited Center or hold a PATH Intl. Certification)
  • Public Member - must represent the population served by certification and accreditation and meet NCCA standards for a Public Member representative. The public member cannot be certified, work for an EAAT center, or be a member of PATH Intl.
    *The registered therapist position has been removed due to a conflict between membership and certification separation per NCCA Standards.  
The ideal candidate(s) will possess:
  1. Experience with at least two of the following:
       *   Accreditation of a certification program
       *   Assessment design
       *   Job task analyses (i.e. identifying candidate knowledge, skills and 
           abilities)
       *   Item writing for examinations
       *   Analysis of test question performance
       *   Analysis of test procedure performance
       *   Quality assurance compliance
  2. Proven experience as an active member of a committee as evidenced by references
  3. Experience representing professional peers in a leadership role for a professional organization
  4. Dedication to the PATH Intl. mission, pursuit of NCCA accreditation and the Credentialing Council purpose as stated in the charter
  5. Current certification where applicable, represented by the position being considered
  6. Current PATH Intl. membership as required by the representative position being considered
The following forms must be submitted to PATH Intl. as soon as possible and no later than August 7, 2017, in order for nominees to be considered for the election ballot:
  1. PATH Intl. Credentialing Council Candidate Nomination form--to be completed by the nominator. Self-nominations will be accepted.
  2. PATH Intl. Credentialing Council Candidate Consent to Serve form--to be completed by all candidates wishing to be on the ballot.
  3. Two references--PATH Intl. will provide this form via email to the references identified by the candidate in the consent to serve. Please ensure that valid email addresses are provided on the consent to serve form.
Nominations are now open. P lease be sure you have thoroughly reviewed the last three Trek to Accrediting the PATH Intl. Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification communications prior to submitting a nomination.   Completed nomination forms must be submitted electronically by email to [email protected] or faxed to (303) 252-4610.

Please bear in mind the following commitments when submitting or accepting a nomination: 
  • There will be a preliminary conference call in early September 2017 following confirmation of the council members to introduce the council tasks.
  • The council will convene for an in-person meeting with representatives from Professional Testing Inc. at the 2017 PATH Intl. Conference and Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX, November 10-11th, to begin the initial council tasks. (Full registration for the conference is NOT required nor is it included.) Council members are responsible for their own travel and accommodations for in-person meetings. Food and beverages will be provided by PATH Intl. as appropriate.
  • Council members shall not during their term(s) of service and for two years afterward develop, deliver, approve, endorse or recommend any education or training programs and products designed or intended to prepare candidates for PATH Intl. certification examinations.
  • Council members may not mentor PATH Intl. certification candidates during their term(s) of service and for two years afterward.
  • Council members shall not take any PATH Intl. certification exam during their term(s) of service and for two years afterward.
All nomination paperwork must be received by PATH Intl. on or before August 7th for candidates to be eligible for the election ballot. The ballot will be announced August 14th, coinciding with the opening of the election.
