Dear Friends in Christ,

Sometimes I have no idea what to write... or what to say... My heart has been heavy these last days with the events of the world, our nation, our state and more. How does one speak into these times? The only thing I can say is LOVE WINS... LOVE ALWAYS WINS. God's LOVE does not always take the sadness away but God's LOVE soothes our broken heart and eases our pain.

On Sunday, August 20 at 12noon at Lakeside Park in Downtown Forest Lake a group has begun planning a gathering to pray for the unrest in our world. Stay connected to us on FACEBOOK to learn more.

We continue our Summer Series on Romans- Got Faith? The Life of Faith. The Power of Grace- continuing in Chapter 12. Here are the opening words you will hear on Sunday morning in worship:

Bibles and Bagels

Join us for Bibles & Bagels every Sunday morning from 8am to 9am at Big Apple Bagels in Forest Lake before Worship in the Park. The address is: 508 Lake St S, Forest Lake, MN 55025. Mission Jamaica Alert!

First Payment Due Now

We have begun planning our 2018 trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. Our dates next year will be February 3-10. We will work with kids, build a house and possibly have a medical team. There will be lots to do for everyone! No skills are needed, except a desire to serve the children and people of Jamaica. We will be making the first deposit in mid June. Sarah Circle Birthday Party at Birchwood Care Center

Hosanna Sarah Circle will be serving the August birthday party at Birchwood Care Center, Forest Lake on Tuesday, August 15^th. This party is a celebration for those residents that have birthdays in August. If you would like to bring a cake for this event, please let Barbara Johansen at 651-433-5592 or Ann Hanson at 715-294-3161 know. The cakes can be brought to Birchwood before 1:30 or at Hosanna front desk by 1:00. Call either Ann or Barbara if you have any questions.

Youth Night

This is a fun evening for anyone in grades 5-12! It will happen on Wednesday, August 23, from 5pm to 7pm! We will have dinner, conversation and partake in a variety of activities! Yogadevotion

Yogadevotion, now in its 13 ^th year in Forest Lake, will begin a new session on Saturday, September 16 ^th, 2017, at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9300 Scandia Trail North, Forest Lake.

Yogadevotion promotes strength, flexibility and peace in body, mind and spirit through weekly Saturday morning devotional sessions. Carrin Mahmood, certified and experienced Yogadevotional instructor, leads the hour long sessions.Women and men of all ages are invited to participate and enjoy this meditation time, while enjoying the benefits of yoga. No previous experience needed, basic yoga will be taught.

The seven (7) week session will run through Saturday, October 28th. Cost is $56 and classes will be held in the Lakeside Room (upper level) at Hosanna, beginning at 9 am and ending at 10 am. Please enter through the north doors. Make up sessions are available at various times and locations.

Hospitality Team
