Sustainable Libraries
It's time to start planning for National Friends of Libraries Week (NFOLW) (October 15-21, 2017) to draw attention to the contributions of your Friends Group to your library and to the community. It's a perfect opportunity to plan a special event, hold a membership drive, or present a special Friends gift to your library. Garner some good publicity by sending press releases and letters to the editor of your local newspapers. For resources to help you celebrate please visit the United for Libraries web site: http://bit.ly/Jnyt77

Once again, through the efforts of Senator Joseph Robach, the New York State Senate issued a proclamation, read on the Senate floor on March 7, 2017, which observes National Friends of Libraries Week and honors the work of Friends organizations across the State. The New York Library Association's Friends of Libraries Section is making available facsimile copies of the proclamation suitable for framing, which Friends Groups may want to display in their libraries during NFOLW. To order your copy use the order form found on page 7 of the FLS newsletter: http://bit.ly/2vzYYDb
