CCHS EARNS OLYMPIC CONFERENCE SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD 2015-16 
Congratulations to all of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and fans for being honored with the 2015-16 NJSIAA Sportsmanship Award for the Olympic Conference.

The honor was recently presented to our Athletic Department with this banner that will hang in Tom Kenney Gymnasium. Each year, the NJSIAA presents a school in each scholastic league a banner recognizing excellence in Sportsmanship with its players, coaches, administrators, facilities, and fans. The award is a combination of all three sport seasons from last school year.
CHOIR ENTERTAINS AT CHERRY HILL'S RAYMOUR & FLANAGAN

CONGRATULATIONS ALL-SOUTH JERSEY BAND
Several CCHS students earned spots in the All-South Jersey Instrumental Ensembles.

Senior Kenny Dilks placed second oboe, which earns him a seat in both the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra.

Sophomore Dion Xia placed seventh flute, which earns her principal player in the Symphonic Band, as well as a spot in one of the chamber ensembles.

Sophomore Hannah Lenkowski placed fourteenth clarinet and earned a seat in the Symphonic Band.

The SJ Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble concert is  Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm; and the SJ Orchestra concert is  Sunday, January 8 at 3:00 pm.  Both concerts are hosted by Rowan University.  The SJ Chamber Ensembles concert is  Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 7:30 pm and is hosted by Cedar Creek HS.

A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR FRESHMEN 

The Give Something Back Foundation supports high school students in the Diocese of Camden. These students will be mentored through their high school years, and if they successfully complete their high school program, will be awarded full scholarships including room and board to selected New Jersey Universities. Families must attend an information night and be Pell Grant eligible.

SERVICE HOURS ANNOUNCEMENTS & OPPORTUNITIES

The following is a list of places recommended by the NHS students that are looking for volunteers for service hours. 

Perkins Center for the Arts in Moorestown and Collingswood is seeking volunteers for their 6th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser on Saturday, December 3rd from 12-3pm. Empty Bowls is an international program that engages participating artists to create and donate handmade bowls in which a simple meal is served to a gathering of caring community members. In exchange for the meal (and the hand-made bowl), guests contribute a minimum donation of $15.00. 100% of the proceeds will be divided equally between the Food Bank of South New Jersey and the Scholarship Fund at Perkins Center for the Arts.

St. Rose of Lima
Opportunities for students to compete service hours at St. Rose by volunteering at Friday night basketball games. Click here for more information and to sign up:  https://www.volunteersignup.org/E3YXP

The Contact of Burlington County TEENLINE Needs Volunteers
TeenLine is a teen to teen confidential helpline. It is a safe place where teens can call and talk to a nonjudgmental person of the same age group who is there to listen, support and discuss ways to manage any stresses they are experiencing. Our teen volunteers are trained and mentored in the skills necessary to meet the needs of the caller, including active listening and effective communication. Seniors/Parents:  Your College Applications should be finished regardless of the college due date.  As we reminded you it is best to get applications completed early then to be rushing to finish them.

Report Cards were issued, Guidance Counselors will be meeting with students who have failing grades this week, to discuss how to improve their grades.
NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY - 
DEADLINE JAN. 9

New this year, Procacci Brothers Sales Corporation, one of the largest wholesale produce distributors in North America, and their affiliated farming operation, Santa Sweets Inc., have created a scholarship fund for Hispanic students at Camden Catholic High School.  In partnership with the Spanish Sports Network, Procacci Brothers & Santa Sweets have agreed to donate $100 for every Philadelphia Phillies home run during the 2016 major league baseball season.   The cumulative proceeds from the Phillies' home run totals will be used to provide renewable financial scholarships for Hispanic students at CCHS.  Students that are incoming freshmen during the 2016-2017 school year are eligible to apply for "Estrella Naciente" scholarship.  The winners of the scholarship will be determined during the 2016-2017 school  year and the recipients will receive their scholarship funds prior to the start of their sophomore school year in 2017-2018.
