Design Slam 2017!!

The 5th Annual Design Slam at West Sixth Brewing will be on September 9th at 5:30pm this year!

The Design Slam is an annual fundraising event for AIA East Kentucky and Lexington Habitat for Humanity. Watch teams from local architecture organizations put together compelling designs for a space in Lexington while audience members cheer and vote for their favorite designs. Each team will have one hour to complete their design using physical or digital media to create, render or illustrate their work.

There are two team slots currently open. If you are interested in participating in the competition this year, please contact Jody Boelhauf.

Additionally, if you would like to explore sponsoring this year's event, please contact Jody Boelhauf for additional information.

For tickets to the event or online voting, please visit this website.

UK College of Design

The UK College of Design School of Architecture has partnered with the Moontower Music Festival to design and build an installation to be featured at the festival August 26 at Masterson Station Park. The students have been working over the summer as part of a Summer Fabrication Studio to take their design for a "moontower" from abstract ideas to a completed physical structure. Come out to Masterson Station Park August 26 to the festival to dance under the Moontower! For more information about the festival, visit http://www.moontowermusicfestival.com/

Lexington Emerging Professionals Network

The Lexington Emerging Professionals Network (LEPN) was started in October of 2016, to provide architectural emerging professionals in the Lexington area an opportunity to network and participate in fellowship with their peers. The LEPN will hold monthly meet-ups at local restaurants, where all area emerging professionals will be welcomed regardless of AIA membership. The goal of the LEPN is to engage all emerging professionals in the larger Lexington architectural community.

If you are an emerging professional in the Lexington area, please follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lexepnetwork, and stay up-to-date on future events.
