NEW JERSEY CAREER CONNECTIONS

East Brunswick Public Library now offers local residents access to New Jersey Career Connections, a new job search and career navigation service provided at local libraries and One-Stop Career Centers throughout the state.
Led by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and provided in partnership with the New Jersey State Library, New Jersey Career Connections offers local residents at all stages in their careers access to effective job search and career navigation services.

"Being a Career Connections library allows East Brunswick Public Library to help our customers in a completely different way," said Library Director Jennifer Podolsky. "Job searching and career resources are two areas that our staff are always asked about, and we are happy that we are better able to provide these services."

Some of the services now provided by the library include job search guidance by trained library staff, assistance navigating the New Jersey Career Connections website and referrals to local One-Stop Career Centers for advanced assistance. Nineteen local libraries, including the State Library, have received grants from the New Jersey Department of Labor to provide New Jersey Career Connections services.

New Jersey Career Connections services are available in person at One-Stop Career Centers and participating library locations as well as at www.CareerConnections.nj.gov, offering New Jerseyans the flexibility to determine how best to explore their career options. A list of all partner locations is available on the New Jersey Career Connections website.

The interactive, easy-to-use and mobile-optimized Career Connections website enables users to work independently, researching and accessing interactive tools at their convenience. In addition to an interactive job board, the new website features networking tips, up-to-date labor market information, interview advice, and easy access to government resources including unemployment insurance.

East Brunswick Public Library provides New Jersey Career Connections services Monday (9 am to 1 pm), Tuesday (5 pm to 9 pm), Wednesday (1 pm to 5 pm), Thursday (1 pm to 5 pm), Friday (1 pm to 5 pm) and Saturday (12 pm to 5 pm).
