Thank you EPI!
The Foundation is extremely grateful to the many volunteers from Exceptional Persons Incorporated (EPI) that assisted with our annual Tradition of Excellence mail campaign! They kindly gave a day of their time to assemble donation cards, letters, and stuff envelopes to send to our donors, community members and alumni.  We thank them for an outstanding, productive and enjoyable day together! As a result of EPI's hours of effort, our donors are using this opportunity to support our schools. Thank you for helping us make a tremendous difference for the students in the Cedar Falls Community School District!

Cold vs. Flu
We are in the beginning of the influenza (flu) season in Iowa. Someti mes it is difficult t o know if your child with a cough, runny nose, and sneezing may be suffering from a common cold or a more severe virus known as influenza or "The Flu". Even though many people mislabel "The Flu" as a stomach bug that causes nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea, "The Flu" is actually an illness that affects the respiratory system causing cough, fever, and body aches.

Here is a link to help you to determine if your child may have a common cold or influenza:  http://kidshealth.org/en/parents/flu-vs-cold.html

Here is another link to more information for parents about influenza:

As with any illness the best defense to protect yourself against illness is to ensure good hand washing!
