Deterra Project Continues
The Deterra Project is an initiative to reduce access to unused and expired prescription medications in Summit County. This project provides free drug deactivation pouches which safely neutralize prescription medicines in an environmentally friendly manner.
Summit County Community Partnership (SCCP) is working with over 35 community partners to distribute pouches with the goal of reducing the number of unused opiate medications by four million over five years. Reducing access to substances is an evidence-based environmental prevention strategy which reduces misuse.
On August 31st, Community Partnership will provide the community with an update on the first year of the project.
