SB 190 Went into Effect Aug. 9:

Here's What You Need to Know

The CDA secured the passage of SB 190 during the 2017 Colorado legislative session, stopping dental plans from setting fees for services they don't cover. This sets in motion an important first step in broad conversations on insurance reform and the future of dental benefits that will be happening in coming years. The CDA remains committed to support reforms that ensure equitable treatment of dentists, preserve high quality care, and increase patient access to dental services.

Update on Sleep Apnea Rulemaking

The Colorado Dental Board started a stakeholder process to develop a rule regarding the involvement of dentists in sleep apnea services, and in April, it discussed a draft rule. Many CDA members could be affected by potential rules. Moving forward, public comments will be accepted. Get the latest.

Dr. An Nguyen is a key face of the future of dentistry. She overcame obstacles when her parents fled Vietnam and were sponsored by an Arkansas church to rebuild life in the U.S. Her upbringing, including time spent as a Medicaid recipient, has shaped her to become an incredible advocate for underserved patients, ensuring they receive quality care that sets them up for future success.

The Future of the Colorado Medicaid Dental Program

The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing is assessing the continued need, appropriateness, and cost-effectiveness of its rules to determine whether those rules should be continued, modified, or repealed. Regarding the state's Medicaid dental program, dentists who either love or dislike aspects of program should submit comments. This is a chance to request change or preserve what works well. Submit comments.


2017 Resource Guide The CDA has created two new helpful, members-only resources to guide new dentists as they navigate their first 10 years out of dental school. Download the Resource Guide and New Practice Checklist.	Will You See ONE? To help more patients in need, Dental Lifeline Network has launched an initiative called Will You See ONE.
