Launch of My San Jose App

On Monday, August 31, 2017, the City of San José launched a new smartphone app and web tool that makes it extremely easy for residents to report five common neighborhood issues: 
  • potholes
  • graffiti
  • abandoned vehicles
  • streetlight outages
  • illegal dumping
My San Jose app can be downloaded via the Apple Store of Android Store.

Residents in single-family homes can have large items (such as mattresse s, s of as, refrigerators, tires, and more) picked up curbside by their recycling collection company. Each pick up includes up to three large items.

Call your recycling company to get a date for your pickup.

Levels of Service (LOS) to Vehicles Miles Traveled (VMT)

The City of San José is beginning the process of implementing SB 743 and transitioning from Level of Service (LOS) to Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) in our CEQA transportation analysis. 

Residents are encouraged to share their feedback.

VTA & Caltrain New Fare Policies
 
VTA has not had a fare increase since 2009. Starting January 1, 2018, the Adult base fare will be raised by $0.25 and will increase by the same amount in January 2019.

Caltrain new fare changes are:
- Caltrain Adult zone fare increases by $.25 effective October 1, 2017
- Go Pass increases from $190 to $237.50 effective January 1, 2018
- Go Pass increases from $237.50 to $285 effective January 1, 2019
- Monthly pass multiplier from 13.25 to 14 days on October 1, 2017
- Increases the multiplier from 14 to 15 days on July 1, 2018

Santa Clara Pedestrian Undercrossing Now Open


The Santa Clara Pedestrian Undercrossing located at Brokaw Road and Railr o ad  Avenue is now open which allows pedestrians and cyclists to access the Caltrain/ACE/Capitol Corridor platform and El Camino Rad from Brokaw Road.

Village House

Village House Needs your Help!
 
Village House   will be providing year-round rotating shelter for medically-fragile women. Current Needs for Village House Network:
  • Need evening shelter partners for October.
  • Need daytime warming centers during the Fall. 
  • Need volunteers especially for our smaller religious organizations. 
  • Need funding support.

Join the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society for a BioBlitz in Coyote Valley! Coyote Creek is home to an abundance of plants, reptiles, mammals, birds, and bugs. This free, fun, family oriented event where people come together to explore the Valley, and document observations of all living things in a short period of time with the help of experts. Everyone over the age of 4 is welcome, and no experience is needed.

SV Pride presents the 2017 Silicon Valley Pride and Festival! Join the celebration for  the 42nd anniversary. The festival kicks off on Saturday night and the celebrations rev up again on Sunday morning with the return of the parade down Market Street. After the Parade, enjoy headliner acts and entertainment.
