Teaching and Coaching Workshop Announced for Sept. 21, 2017
The Education Committee is happy to announce the creation of the Colorado PGA Fall Teaching and Coaching Workshop. This one-day, hands-on workshop will feature some of the best instructors in the Colorado Section sharing their insights into the game in a 30 minute Ted-Talks style presentation.

Sharamitaro Wins Rain-Shortened Eisenhower GC Pro Am
Blake Sharamitaro, PGA Assistant Professional at Riverdale Golf Course won the rain-shortened Eisenhower Golf Club Pro Am on Monday, August 7, 2017. Sharamitaro notched seven birdies during his round to fire a four-under-par 68.
In the team event, Chris Johnson led his team to a 15-under-par 129 to take the team title.

Registration Deadline for Section Championship Approaching Quickly
Registration is now open for the 2017 Colorado PGA Professional Championship set for the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club, September 11-13, 2017. The event is open to call Class A Members as well as members classified as Life Member Active and Life Member Master Professional Active. The entry fee for the event is $250. The deadline to register is
August 23, 2017.

The Club at Ravenna Set to Host the Colorado PGA Women's Championship -- Registration Deadline Set for Aug. 17, 2017
The Colorado PGA's Women's Championship will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 22-23, at The Golf Club at Ravenna. The championship is open to all female Colorado PGA Professionals, apprentices and any LPGA Professionals and apprentices in good standing whom reside or work within the Colorado Section boundaries.

Stroke Play #4 Coming Up at Buffalo Run Golf Course
Buffalo Run Golf Course will host the fourth Pro-only Stroke Play event on Thursday, August 17, 2017. The event features an 18-hole stroke play contest. The deadline to register is set for Monday, August 14, 2017 at 12:00pm.

The PGA of America has entered into a strategic alliance with global sports entertainment leader Topgolf® to help promote career opportunities for golf industry professionals at Topgolf venues nationwide. PGA to Move the PGA Professional Championship to April in 2019
Beginning in 2019, the PGA Professional Championship, the largest all-professional national golf event, will be conducted in late April as a result of new competition dates for the PGA Championship, which will move to May 16-19, 2019.

PGA of America, PGA TOUR Announce Schedule Changes
In a joint announcement, the PGA of America and the PGA TOUR today announced that beginning in 2019, the PGA Championship will be played in the month of May -- while THE PLAYERS Championship will be contested in March at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Kupcho falls 2 and 1 in round-of-64 match at U.S. Women's Amateur
The hopes of Jennifer Kupcho of Westminster adding the 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur title to the Canadian Women's Amateur championship she won last month ended on Wednesday when she lost in the round of 64 at San Diego Country Club.

Back Home Coaching in Colorado
Brian Guetz, a two-time CoBank Colorado Open champion and one of just two amateur winners of that event, has been hired as an assistant coach for the University of Denver men's golf program, head coach Erik Billinger announced on Wednesday.

Repeat and three-peat.
That was the story of the day for the winners of the Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado's 10 & under Junior Series Championship at the Pfluger Course at Pinehurst Country Club in south Denver.

11-13 Champs: Choi repeats as 11-13 Junior Series girls champion; Messingham wins boys title in playoff
They went about it in totally different ways, but Gage Messingham of Arvada and Sofia Choi of Littleton arrived at the same outcome on Tuesday afternoon at The Fox Hill Club in Longmont.
Messingham (below in orange) prevailed in a sudden-death playoff to earn the boys title in the Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado's 11-13 Junior Series Championship, while Choi lapped the field in claiming victory in the girls division.
